A Doctor’s Self-Paid Review of Rejuran Skin Booster in Hongdae

What procedure do you get, doctor?

I get asked this a lot.

When I’m busy seeing patients, I can’t always take care of my own face, so my skin condition drops a lot.^^

Especially when I feel severe inner dryness and a noticeable loss of elasticity.

So on this day, I made up my mind and carried out a self-treatment after my night clinic hours ended.

Today’s treatment is Rejuran, one of the skin boosters famous for being both effective and painful.

Today’s topic is A Doctor’s Self-Paid Review of Rejuran Skin Booster in Hongdae.

Based on how I felt while getting it done on my own face,

I’ll talk about whether Rejuran Healer or Rejuran HB Plus is better,

and whether it’s better to receive it by manual injection or with an injector.

Before getting it, I used a skin diagnostic device (Mark-Vu) to precisely measure my current skin condition.

As a doctor, I can’t simply say I think it got better based on a feeling alone.^^

(I recommend going to a place that compares before-and-after results for you too.)

I started while wondering how much improvement I could get from 3 cc.

2. Self-treatment: using an injector (why I don’t recommend it)

That day, I used an injector called Derma Shine.

You might ask, “Is it better to get it done with a machine?”..

Honestly, it’s because it’s easier for me to do on my own face. ^^;

I have to do it myself while looking in the mirror,

and stabbing my own face dozens of times with my hand

is pretty frightening and exhausting even for me. (I’m especially scared of injections.)

So I relied on the machine to inject it evenly.

However, when I perform procedures on patients, I strongly prefer and insist on manual injection.

There are two main reasons.

1. The depth of the dermal layer differs by area of the face. The machine only inserts the needle at a fixed, preset depth.

But our faces vary widely in skin thickness depending on the area—forehead, around the eyes, front cheekbone, chin, and so on.

With manual injection, a doctor can use fingertip sensation to precisely find the most effective depth according to the thickness of each area.

That’s why people say Hongdae Rejuran should be done at a place with good manual injection technique.

2. Every drop of Rejuran matters. With a machine, loss occurs unavoidably when the medication travels through the tube and when it is released onto the skin.

Rejuran... it’s expensive, as good as it is.

So we can’t afford to waste it. That’s why I prefer manual injection.

3. Difference in effect: Rejuran Healer vs HB Plus

That day, I chose Rejuran HB Plus, which includes a numbing ingredient (lidocaine)

and a dewy-skin ingredient (hyaluronic acid).

“Since HB Plus is mixed, doesn’t it work less effectively than the original Healer?”

Many people worry about that.

Based on my own experience and the many cases I’ve seen, the difference in effect is not dramatically large.

I mentioned this in a previous post, didn’t I?

Because Rejuran Healer is so painful, when patients are in a lot of discomfort,

it can end up being injected deeper than intended into a layer that doesn’t hurt, almost without realizing it..

So the anesthesia option matters (I do not recommend sedation anesthesia)

and if you are sensitive to pain, it is more efficient to avoid Hongdae Rejuran “Healer” from the start.

Rather than stopping mid-procedure or not being able to get it properly because of the severe pain of Healer,

properly injecting the appropriate amount into the skin with HB Plus, without the stress of pain,

ultimately helps skin improvement much more.

4. Downtime (embossing)

Right after the procedure, the skin develops an embossed, bumpy appearance.

In my case, using the injector, the marks disappeared after about a day and a half,

so it did not interfere with my daily life at all. (I have to see patients every day.^^)

But for you, please allow some extra time!

If manual injection is used to carefully target the dermal layer,

or if you have thin, sensitive skin, recovery may take longer.

So I usually tell patients, “To be safe, embossing may be visible for about a week.”

If you have an important appointment after Rejuran in Hongdae, it will be most comfortable to schedule it at least 1–2 weeks later.

5. Three days after the procedure, what were the results? (Overall self-paid review)

On day 3 after the procedure, even without makeup, I could clearly feel the glow coming from within the skin.

More than anything, the diagnostic device values measured before the procedure also objectively confirmed improvements in moisture and skin density, which made me very satisfied.

In summary:

• Pain: The combination of HB Plus + numbing cream is definitely tolerable.
• Method: I used a machine for self-treatment, but for patients I recommend manual injection with no loss.
• Recommendation: When your skin feels cracked and parched from cold, dry weather like it is now, there’s nothing better than this as a kind of restorative treatment.

Even though many skin booster procedures have become available that are not as painful, there are still skin conditions that need Rejuran.

If your skin is sensitive, dry, and in poor condition, Hongdae Rejuran can be a big help.

Because Rejuran tends to be quite painful, there is nothing more frustrating than enduring the pain and then not getting any effect.

Please make sure to choose the version that suits you best and get it done properly with manual injection at a place that knows how to perform it well.
