Sculptra is a powdered medication.

The bottle in the photo contains powder particles, which are mixed with saline.

To inject it, a hydration process that dilutes it with saline and lets it swell in water is essential.

A simple comparison would be dried seaweed or dried rice.

If you cook them without soaking them thoroughly in water, they become too hard to eat, right?

Sculptra particles are the same.

If they go into the skin without being sufficiently hydrated, the partially dissolved particles clump together and form nodules.

As shown in the photo below, the particles need to be hydrated thoroughly for at least 24 hours so they disperse evenly.

However, doing the treatment right away on the same day means that

there may be a possibility of using medication whose hydration timing is unknown,

or using medication that was mixed in a hurry and not fully dissolved.

Each clinic has its own know-how regarding hydration concentration and timing.

2. Have it done in only 3 selected areas

Hongdae Sculptra has clear areas where it can be injected and areas where it should absolutely not be injected.

1. Not recommended areas: forehead, bridge of the nose, tip of the chin, lips These areas either require bony support or have too much muscle movement.

Fillers that act as firm support pillars are more suitable here.

If Sculptra is injected into thin-skinned areas like the forehead or lips, it can become uneven.

2. Recommended areas: temples, outer cheeks, front cheeks Sculptra is suitable for broad, sunken areas like those shown in the photo below.

Like spreading fertilizer over a field to help new growth emerge,

it regenerates collagen in the skin itself and gently fills a wide area.

Carefully discuss with your doctor whether the hollow areas in your face are places that need support pillars or places that need filling.

3. Receive it in 3 sessions, divided into the correct layer

so it must be injected precisely into the deep dermis, where collagen is most effectively produced, for the effect to come through properly.

If it is injected into the epidermis or the upper dermis, the risk of nodules increases,

and if it goes too deep into the fat layer, the effect will not be very good.

That is why it must be laid precisely in the deep dermis so that collagen can build properly.

This depends entirely on the doctor’s fingertip sense, that is, injection technique.

Because skin thickness differs from person to person,

the amount each area can handle must be calculated accurately before injecting.

4. What if you’re still afraid of nodules?
