Hello. I’m Jowonjin, and I’ve been treating patients for 10 years.

Botox is more cost-effective at a factory-style clinic.
It’s all the same anyway.
I heard friends at the next table say this while I was at a cafe on the weekend.
Since Botox is such a commonly performed procedure,
you can still get good results at a factory-style clinic.
However, depending on how it is injected,
you can maximize the effect,
or you may end up spending six months stressed by unexpected side effects.

Today, under the topic of how to choose a clinic that is good at Hapjeong Botox,
whether it is a factory-style clinic or a private clinic,
to get proper results from Botox,
I will explain the two criteria that you must consider.

Do they design while looking at connected muscles together?

Do they explain the dosage accurately in units?

- Do they design while looking at connected muscles together?
It is easiest to think of the muscles in our face as playing tug-of-war with one another.
If one muscle is paralyzed, another connected muscle
will think, I’ll do the work instead! and exert too much force.
What happens if this principle is ignored and injections are given mechanically?
For example, let’s say you are getting Botox in the forehead.

The forehead muscles lift the eyebrows upward,
and the glabellar muscles lower the eyebrows downward.
These two are in a constant tug-of-war, maintaining the position of the eyes.
If you only paralyze the forehead because you said, “Please smooth only the forehead wrinkles,” what happens?
The force that lifts upward disappears, but the force that pulls downward (the glabella) remains,
so the eyebrows sag downward, making the eyes feel heavy and uncomfortable.

If you look at the photo, the forehead and glabellar muscles are attached and affecting the eye muscles.
So for the eyes to feel comfortable, when treating the forehead,
you also need to reduce the downward pull of the glabella to balance the upper and lower forces.
Without considering this,
one common mistake is to inject only the ends of the forehead,
creating the samurai eyebrow look, where the outer corners of the eyes are pulled upward.
Second, in the case of square-jaw Botox.
It is easy to think, “If I reduce only the jaw muscle, my face will become slimmer.”
But if the jaw muscle is paralyzed too strongly,
the temple muscle that helps with chewing (the temporalis) ends up overworking instead.

As a result, even if the jaw becomes smaller,
the temples may instead bulge outward, causing temporalis hypertrophy.
If this is left alone and you keep repeating jaw Botox,
the upper part of the face gradually becomes larger, like a wart.
This shows how the jaw muscle and temporalis muscle attach to the lower jawbone.
That is why design is everything.
Before the procedure, make sure the doctor actually feels the muscles of your face
and goes through a process of calculating the overall balance, such as:
“Her forehead strength is weak, so I need to treat the glabella as well.”
“The jaw muscle is strong, so the temporalis could grow larger as compensation.”

2. Do they explain the dosage accurately in units?
Have you ever seen an advertisement like a super-special event for 5 cc of skin Botox?
It is common to see cases where the price is based on cc (volume).
However, this can also cause a lack of effect and lead to resistance.
You may hear stories like this: a person was injected with a 5 cc dosage,
but later found out that the solution contained only 15 units.

To put it into perspective, that amount is absurdly low.
Typically, the whole face uses as little as 40 units and as much as 100 units.
Because it is diluted too much and has no effect, the treatment interval ends up becoming shorter.
If wrinkle Botox uses only 0.3 units, there is no way it could work.

So during consultation, check the dosage for each area in units, not cc.
In general, a clinic that is good at Hapjeong Botox not only performs proper design,
but also tells you the dosage accurately without being dishonest.
Because Botox is often repeated once patients are satisfied with the effect after the first treatment,
the dosage and effect need to be recorded in the chart for management when you visit again.
I have a lot to say about the clinic’s chart as well.
I explained this in more detail in the post below, so please be sure to read it.
- Summary of the characteristics of a good Botox clinic
When choosing a Hapjeong Botox clinic, remember these two things.
-
Do they provide 1:1 design while considering muscle interactions?
-
Do they tell you the actual units accurately, not cc (the amount of water)?

Botox is a common procedure, but the clinic must follow honest principles for it to be performed safely.
I hope you carefully remember what I shared today and use it well when getting Botox.
Thank you. This has been Jowonjin.
