Hello, I’m Dr. Jo Won-jin, and I’ve been practicing medicine for 10 years.

I heard Corage hurts less than Thermage,
so I’m worried the results might be weaker.
Does it still work if I only get it once?
I hear these concerns a lot.
To get straight to the point, less pain does not automatically mean less effect.
The difference is whether Thermage delivers strong heat all at once to create results,
or whether Corage gradually builds improvement in several sessions while reducing the burden on the skin.
The photo below also shows the change after just one treatment.

This image was taken on the day before and after the procedure. You can see that the lines along both sides of the jaw and cheeks have been refined, and the complexion looks brighter, right?
Just one treatment can already look quite dramatic, right?
I’ll explain how this is possible below.
I personally like it a lot as well, so it’s a device I often use in the clinic.
Today, under the topic of how to achieve Thermage-like results with Corage lifting,
I’ll explain everything from the hidden mechanism of Corage to how to create a satisfying tightening effect in a cost-effective way.
If you focus for just 3 minutes, you’ll get tips that help you avoid wasting money^^

The photo above shows me performing the treatment myself. Even I, who am afraid of pain, get this treatment often.

- The difference in principles between Corage and Thermage
Thermage and Corage lifting both ultimately aim for collagen regeneration.
The way they deliver energy to the skin is different.
While Thermage delivers powerful radiofrequency heat energy into the skin to induce collagen contraction and regeneration,
Corage uses “special wave energy (resonance waves)” rather than heat.
To put it simply, if you place a wine glass next to a speaker,
when music of a specific frequency plays, the wine inside the glass creates gentle ripples, right?

This is similar.
Corage sends waves at 16 frequencies that are well matched to the skin tissue.
Then, without damaging the surface, it gently stimulates only the cells inside the skin to move on their own
and produce collagen.
Because it does not rely on forcibly applying strong heat to cause burns or damage,
people who are sensitive to pain can receive it very comfortably.
(You can see in the photo below that I’m receiving it without anesthesia, and it looks comfortable because there is no pain.)

- Customized settings for a Thermage-like effect
So how can you maximize a tightening effect similar to Thermage with Corage?
The key depends on how you combine the four handpieces according to the thickness of each area.
If you apply the same uniform setting to the entire face, the effect will naturally be reduced.
The Corage 2.0 version has four handpieces, each with a different role.
The result changes significantly depending on how these tools are combined.

Only the right side in the photo has been treated, and you can see that the right eyebrow and eye position have lifted slightly, right? The jawline also looks more refined.
- Egg lifting
A tip shaped like an egg applies negative pressure (suction) to the skin and sends energy deep inside.
It lifts everything from the jawline to the forehead, so you can expect an immediate V-line lifting effect.

- Glove care
You put on silver-thread gloves and roll directly over the face.
Because the energy can be adjusted according to the pressure and contact area of the hand, detailed contour care is possible, almost like a gua sha massage.

As shown in the photo above, the glove is used to roll over the skin surface.
- Ceramic donor
For people with thin or sensitive skin, it gently fills in overall energy across a wide area.

- Plasma roller
It opens tiny channels, helping improve skin texture and creating synergy with the penetration of skin booster medications.

Q. Is one treatment enough?
A. Yes. If you have an urgent schedule and need quick improvement, you can still see results from just one treatment.
However, for long-term maintenance, rather than receiving one strong treatment, it is better to repeat it 2 to 3 times at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks
so that cellular activation continues consistently.
Because this is not a damage-based method, the more often you receive it, the healthier your skin itself becomes.
If you look at the photo below, you can see that the nasolabial fold beside the nose has become lighter and the fine damage in the center of the cheeks has softened, right?
The overall complexion has also become brighter.

- Synergistic procedures with Corage lifting
Of course, there are clear limitations.
If deep skin sagging has already progressed severely,
it may be difficult to feel a dramatic change with Corage alone.
In that case, it is better to combine it with Shurink or Ulthera.
That’s because ultrasound lifting tightly contracts the deep fascial layer (SMAS) to create support,
and Corage fills in firmness in the superficial dermal layer, making the two highly compatible.
Ultimately, what matters is accurately diagnosing your skin thickness and degree of sagging,
and then receiving treatment with carefully customized device settings.

In actual clinical settings, these details in design and handpiece combinations determine the success or failure of the procedure.
Related to this, I’ve written below about choosing a clinic that properly analyzes your face
and helps reduce risks, so please be sure to read it.
- Key summary for a successful treatment
Let me briefly summarize what we discussed today.
-
Corage lifting induces collagen regeneration by stimulating cells inside the skin with wave energy.
-
It is an excellent option for people who are afraid of pain and want natural firmness without disrupting daily life.
-
The effect is maximized when the four handpieces are customized to the skin condition and the treatment is repeated consistently.

Stronger and more painful procedures are not always the only answer.
There is also a way to improve firmness through a comfortable method that your skin can handle without strain
and that you can keep up consistently.
I hope you create a change that makes the time and money you spent after a careful analysis of your face feel worthwhile.
Thank you. This was Jo Won-jin.
