Hello.
I am Director Lee Seong-jun of the Seoul branch of Reiting Plastic Surgery.
As time passes and we get older,
many people are thinking about and looking for ways to improve
wrinkles, sagging skin, and the face/jawline.

When is the best time to start lifting?
There is no fixed time
when you should consider lifting.
While you are hesitating, your skin continues to sag,
so starting earlier helps with a longer maintenance period.

However, the recommended lifting method differs by age group!
So in today’s post,
I would like to recommend which lifting procedures and surgeries are suitable by age group 😄

Thread lifting recommended for people in their 20s and 30s
People in their 20s and 30s are relatively
less advanced in the aging process,
so consistent care such as injections and laser treatments
is important.
Among the various lifting procedures,
thread lifting is worth considering.
For people in their 20s and 30s who need correction of
left-right imbalance (asymmetry) due to skin aging,
or who want overall improvement in elasticity and wrinkles,
thread lifting may be helpful.

A standard thread lifting method
pulls only the dermis layer, which is close to the skin,
so the maintenance period is short and a foreign-body sensation is more likely,
but if it is performed in a dual method with threads inserted into the dermis layer and the fascia layer respectively,
there is no incision, no scar, and no stitch removal,
and it also lifts the loosened retaining ligaments,
leading to high satisfaction.
Mini lifting recommended for people in their 40s
From your 40s onward,
many people continue to receive various procedures while paying attention to care,
but this is also the period when ongoing procedures begin to feel limited
as aging continues to progress.
Therefore, if surgery is possible,
you may consider a facelift or mini lifting with partial skin incisions.

Reiting mini lifting
is performed through a small incision near the sideburns inside the scalp,
and it has the advantage of a smaller incision area than a general facelift
and a recovery period as short as that of procedural lifting.

Facelift recommended for people in their 50s and 60s
As aging accelerates,
if the face loses elasticity and volume decreases,
a facelift can be one of the improvement options.

In a facelift, it is important to properly dissect the facial fascia layer and retaining ligaments.
Dissection refers to the process of separating
between the skin tissue and the muscle layer.
In particular, during the dissection process,
after pulling the wrinkled muscle layer, the remaining muscle layer must be removed
so that blood loss is low and the recovery period for bruising and swelling is shorter,
making a high-satisfaction facelift possible.
