Hello.
I’m Director Lee Seong-jun of Leeting Plastic Surgery Seoul Branch.

Neck wrinkles that look like a rooster comb caused by aging,
fine wrinkles around the eyes, forehead wrinkles,
and a sagging facial line,
there are many people who are concerned about these issues, right?
Many people seem to become interested in face lift surgery
after having such concerns.
However, when it comes to a face lift,
the information varies widely,
and for those who may only have a vague idea,
I’d like to explain it in a way that helps you understand face lift surgery.
First, if we look at what people around you commonly ask about, it is usually things like the following.
“What are the criteria for a hospital that does face lift surgery well?”
“How long does the face lift last?”
“The face lift price is more expensive than a procedure,
but is it worth it?”
“I had a face lift,
but it feels like aging is still progressing.”
There seem to be many questions like these.
In today’s post,
I’ll answer all the questions you had about face lift surgery.

Q. Are there any side effects of a face lift?
A. Side effects of a face lift
depend on how the dissection is performed.
In our face, there is an area called the fascial (SMAS) layer,
which is the key part of face lift surgery.
The fascia is a fibromuscular layer located between
the subcutaneous fat layer and the muscle layer,
and it is a fundamental cause of wrinkles and aging.
To achieve good results in a face lift,
dissection is important.
The dissection process that separates the area between the skin tissue and the muscle layer
pulls up the wrinkled muscle layer,
then neatly removes the remaining muscle layer,
creating results with a longer duration and higher satisfaction.

Q. Face lift prices are really expensive, but does it work?
A. “The satisfaction level relative to the face lift price is high.”
The face has different structures and functions depending on the area.
So even with procedures such as thread lifting, Ulthera, or laser treatments,
even if an immediate effect appears in the treated area,
the effect may be minimal in other areas.
Therefore, in general,
when surgery is performed on a wide area all at once, as with a face lift,
it often has a longer duration and higher satisfaction than procedures.

Q. Can a face lift slow down aging?”
A. A face lift
helps improve skin elasticity and soften wrinkles,
with the focus being on how much younger the appearance becomes.
In other words, a face lift is
not a surgery that slows aging through surgery,
but a procedure that helps create a more elastic and vibrant facial impression.
Therefore, while sagging skin can be improved by lifting it through surgery,
for slowing the progression of aging,
combining treatments such as Botox, laser, or Ulthera
after a face lift may be more helpful.
