What is cheek fat liposuction?

The fat in the cheeks is divided into two types.

One is the subcutaneous fat layer beneath the skin, and the other is the fat pad beneath the cheek muscles.

The procedure takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Therefore, the operator’s skill and extensive experience are required.

Procedure using an ultrasound liposuction device

An ultrasound liposuction device refers to a liposuction machine equipped with an ultrasound generator.

Compared with conventional mechanical liposuction devices, it allows gentler suction,

and has the advantage of causing less damage to blood vessels and nerves.

Ultrasound is generated at the tip of the liposuction cannula,

so the fat is melted into liquid and then suctioned out,

allowing safe and effective liposuction.

In the first step, the fat is melted with an ultrasound liposuction device,

and in the second step, fine suction is performed with a syringe-attached micro cannula.

Effect of facial (cheek) liposuction

The procedure is performed on the cheeks, jawline, and the neck area below the jawline,

and depending on the area, about 20 cc to as much as 100 cc of fat can usually be suctioned.

After the procedure, the areas where fat was removed will show a reduced volume corresponding to the amount of fat suctioned.

However, like SmartLipo laser treatment, the results are often below expectations or have almost no effect. It can also cause severe swelling and sometimes heat damage to the skin. New procedures are often promoted through reckless false and exaggerated advertising that has not even verified their effectiveness or side effects, so caution is necessary. In addition, necrotic tissue or inflamed tissue cannot produce good results unless it is directly removed by inserting a suction cannula.
SmartLipo laser procedure	A method that uses a laser to melt and remove subcutaneous fat. The treatment effect is weak, so it is a method in which volume reduction is hardly noticeable. Fat must be removed in the desired amount and from the desired location, so there is no procedure more precise than directly removing fat by inserting a cannula. The degree to which externally applied laser passes through the skin and melts the subcutaneous fat beneath is very weak or almost ineffective, so desired results cannot be obtained with this method.
Lipolysis procedure (PPC injection)	A method of dissolving fat using injections, but depending on the drug, in most cases the effect is minimal, and when aggressive drugs are used, side effects such as uneven skin can occur. Once a drug is introduced into the body, it spreads to surrounding areas. It is impossible to know where and how deeply the drug will spread, so caution is needed because unwanted areas may collapse or become pitted in spots like small hollows. Whatever the procedure, the desired result can only be achieved when the appropriate amount of fat is removed from the intended place with an accurate design. Trying to contour the face with fat-dissolving injections is a method from which little can really be expected. Do not be misled by false and exaggerated advertisements whose effectiveness has not been proven.
Removal of fat pads through an intraoral incision	A method of removing the fat pad under the cheekbone in a lump through an incision inside the mouth. Unlike subcutaneous fat, the fat pad is buried deep beneath the cheekbone and can only be removed through an intraoral incision. However, the effect is only a slight, localized reduction in volume beneath the cheekbone, and there is no overall volume reduction in an obese-type face, so the effect is very localized and limited. Ordinary cheek and jawline fullness is caused by subcutaneous fat, so liposuction is effective. Removing the fat pad through an incision is not an appropriate surgical method for an obese-type face with a lot of subcutaneous fat.

A correct understanding of cheek, under-eye, and jawline liposuction

The simplest and best way to remove fat from the body is

to insert a cannula and remove it directly by suction.

Liposuction must always be completed by making an incision in the skin,

inserting the cannula, and suctioning out the fat cells.

Whether the method is mechanical, laser, or ultrasound,

the fat must be expelled to the outside through the suction cannula, so whichever method is used,

the fat cells must be destroyed and come out by the necessary amount to achieve the desired volume reduction.

In facial liposuction, the result depends on the surgeon’s experience and know-how,

using a thin cannula of appropriate thickness,

how gently and effectively the suction is performed,

and whether the right amount is suctioned.

If there is a lot of subcutaneous fat in the cheeks, liposuction is the right choice.

The degree of subcutaneous fat can be judged by pinching the cheek fat with your fingers

and checking the thickness that can be grasped.

For cheek fat liposuction, we perform micro liposuction

Because only the fat in the subcutaneous layer is suctioned, it is not dangerous at all,

you can undergo the procedure with peace of mind.

After liposuction, you should wear the face band for about one week,

and after that, only while sleeping for about one month.

Swelling and bruising do not occur much.

The suction area is closed with a fine thread, about one stitch,

and if dissolvable sutures are used or if non-dissolvable sutures are used,

they are removed after 2 to 3 days.

The cheek suction procedure takes about one hour.

Whether the jawline will also be suctioned is decided after consultation.

If fat is suctioned incorrectly, inflammation at the surgical site, asymmetry,

unevenness, scar tissue, scarring,

reduced sensation, and sagging skin may occur.

Any surgery carries the risk of side effects

and a margin of error,
