■ Face washing and showering are possible from the second day, and at other times the facial band should be worn.

● AcuSculpt laser procedure

It is similar to the SmartLipo laser procedure, and is a device that came out later after demand for the SmartLipo laser procedure disappeared due to its insufficient results.

However, like the SmartLipo laser procedure, in most cases the effect is below expectations or there is almost no effect.

In addition, severe swelling may occur, and heat damage to the skin can also happen.

New procedures often lure consumers with indiscriminate false and exaggerated advertising without their effectiveness or side effects having been verified, so caution is necessary.

Also, necrotic tissue or inflamed tissue cannot produce good results unless it is removed by inserting a direct suction cannula.

● SmartLipo laser procedure

This is a method of melting and removing subcutaneous fat using a laser.

The effect of the procedure is mild, so there is almost no noticeable reduction in volume.

Because fat must always be removed from the desired location and in the desired amount, there is no method as precise as directly removing fat by inserting a cannula.

The degree to which externally applied laser passes through the skin and melts the subcutaneous fat underneath is very slight or nearly ineffective, so the desired result cannot be achieved with this method.

● Lipolysis (PPC injection)

This is a method of dissolving fat using injections, but depending on the medication, in most cases the effect is almost nonexistent, or if a strong drug is administered, it can cause the skin to become lumpy.

Once the medication is introduced into the body, it spreads to the surrounding areas.

There is no way to know where and how deeply the drug will spread, and caution is needed because side effects often occur, such as unwanted hollowing in certain areas or uneven depressions like pits in places.

It is almost impossible to expect contouring through fat-dissolving injections.

This is a method of removing the fat pad located below the cheekbone in one piece through an incision inside the mouth.

However, the effect is only a slight reduction in volume locally below the cheekbone; it does not reduce the overall volume in an obese-type face, so the effect is very localized and limited.

General cheek fat and jawline obesity is caused by subcutaneous fat, so liposuction is effective. Removing the fat pad through an incision is not an appropriate surgical method for an obese-type face with a lot of subcutaneous fat.

Misunderstandings about liposuction

The simplest and best way to remove fat from the body is to insert a cannula and remove it directly by suction.

Liposuction is not complete until an incision is made in the skin, a cannula is inserted, and the fat cells are suctioned out.

Whether it is a mechanical, laser, or ultrasonic method, the fat must be discharged to the outside through the cannula, so whichever method is used, the fat cells must be broken down and removed in the required amount to achieve the desired volume reduction effect.

In the case of facial liposuction, what determines the outcome is the surgeon’s experience and know-how, and the use of a thin cannula of an appropriate thickness, how smoothly and effectively the suction is performed, and whether the necessary amount is removed all determine the outcome of the procedure.

If there is a lot of subcutaneous fat in the cheeks, liposuction is the right choice.

The degree of subcutaneous fat can be judged by pinching the cheek fat with your fingers and checking the thickness that can be grasped.
