In particular, the skin under the eyes gradually becomes thinner as it ages and rapidly loses elasticity. Therefore, lateral canthopexy, which fixes the sagging skin and muscle to the outer orbital periosteum, can be combined. Lateral canthopexy firmly secures the lower eyelid muscle or lateral canthal tendon to the periosteum, helping improve wrinkles and sagging under the eyes that are difficult to correct with lower eyelid surgery alone.
