Pre-surgery precautions are just as important as post-procedure care!

Depending on your condition before surgery, swelling, bruising, and recovery time can all differ,

so it is important to maintain the best possible condition.

Today, we have summarized the precautions you must follow before surgery.

✅ Absolutely no food, including water, gum, and candy

When you are under anesthesia during surgery and unconscious,

muscle tension decreases, so food left in the stomach can flow back up and block the airway.

For your safety, be sure to follow the fasting instructions!

✅ Please inform us in advance if you have any underlying conditions or are taking any medications

Some medications suppress the body’s normal clotting response,

which can cause bleeding to continue longer after surgery.

Medications that must be taken, such as blood pressure or thyroid medication,

should be taken at the scheduled time with a small amount of water after consulting about the timing.

✅ Please remove nail art and pedicure before visiting

During surgery, safety is monitored using a device called an oximeter,

which shines light on the blood vessels under the fingernails to check blood flow and oxygen saturation.

If there is nail polish or decoration on the hands or feet, the light cannot pass through and measurement is impossible,

so please be sure to remove it before surgery!

✅ Please visit with a clean, makeup-free face on the day of surgery

In particular, if you have eyelash extensions, please remove them as much as possible before visiting.

It is very important to thoroughly disinfect the surgical area before surgery.

False eyelashes can come off easily, and it is not easy to disinfect between the strands,

so please remove them in advance for hygiene and safety.

✅ Do not wear contact lenses, earrings, rings, necklaces, or similar items

Wearing contact lenses during surgery may cause corneal damage,

and if metal items are attached to the body, there is a risk of burns,

so everything must be removed before surgery.

✅ Wear easy-to-put-on and easy-to-take-off clothing on the day of surgery

After surgery, movement such as bending your head down may be limited, making changing clothes inconvenient,

so it is best to come in comfortable clothing.

We recommend hoodies with a wide neck, shirts that open in the front, or zip-up tops.

If needed, it may also help to prepare a hat, sunglasses, mask, or similar items to cover your face.

✅ No driving on the day of surgery

After sedation or general anesthesia, cognitive ability and body reflexes are reduced,

which can lead to accidents while driving.

Self-driving is dangerous, so please come with a guardian or use public transportation!

✅ No smoking or drinking

Many people may think smoking and drinking only need to be avoided after surgery,

but it is also better to refrain from them before surgery.

Because smoking and drinking have a close effect on the body’s immune response,

please refrain from smoking and drinking for more than a month before and after surgery!
