Choosing a Pigment Laser
Hello, this is Raon Dermatology in Sangwangsimni.
Because it is that time of year, many people are still seeking pigment treatment. If you are still considering pigment treatment, you may be wondering where to start and how to receive treatment! I think that may be because there is no fixed answer or formula, and each dermatology clinic suggests a different solution. In particular, many people feel uncertain about which laser they should use for treatment. So I prepared today’s post, and I hope you can gather plenty of useful information here :)

Choosing a Pigment Laser
01. M22 IPL
If you search for reviews of pigment treatment, it is easy to find comments like, “I got it because someone I know said it was good, but it didn’t work for me.” That is because each person has a different skin type and different kinds of pigmentation. Today, I will introduce a total of four pigment lasers, and depending on your skin condition, you may need them or you may not. Please keep this in mind while reading :)
“Wide treatment range with diverse options”
First, the M22 IPL from Lumenis is a laser that can treat various types of pigmented lesions using multiple wavelengths. Not only does it offer a wide range of usable wavelengths, but it can also use a total of six cut-off filters! By changing the filter to match the type of lesion that needs treatment, you can think of it as allowing customized treatment. Since the lesion can be precisely targeted depending on which filter is used, treatment efficiency can be increased and the risk of skin damage can be reduced.

02. Helios 785
The second laser to look at is the Helios 785. It is a laser that combines nanosecond wavelengths of 1,064nm and 532nm with a picosecond wavelength of 785nm! Because it can use multiple wavelengths, the treatment range is quite broad and the procedure time is relatively short.
It can effectively treat not only relatively easy-to-manage epidermal pigmentation such as spots and freckles, but also more difficult pigments such as melasma and lentigines. In addition, it can treat pigmented lesions such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from wounds and acne marks.

03. CO2 Laser
If you have many spots all over your face, or if you have many age spots or skin tags, a CO2 laser will definitely be necessary. In the case of the N-Pulse CO2 laser, it can treat various epidermal lesions using a 10,600nm wavelength.
Another advantage is that the spot size can be adjusted from 0.25mm to 0.5mm. This means treatment can be performed efficiently according to the size of the lesion, right? It also has its own cooling system, so there is not much to worry about in terms of skin damage, which means the treatment burden on your side will be relatively low.

04. DDR Laser
If you have vascular pigmentation, the pigment lasers above alone may have limitations. What you need at this point is the DDR laser! This laser uses a 585nm wavelength with high vascular absorption, and it can effectively treat red acne marks, vascular pigmentation, and facial redness.
I will attach a link to a post that covers the DDR laser in more detail, so it may be worth checking it out :)

Good to Use Together
Today, we looked at four pigment lasers like this. Among skin concerns, scars and pores are also considered some of the most difficult issues along with pigmentation! If you have balanced your overall skin tone through pigment treatment, how about continuing with scar and pore treatment?
Below, you will see Potenza and Mirajet, which are representative treatments for scars and pores. Potenza uses radiofrequency to promote skin regeneration! When using the pumping tip, medications such as skin boosters can also be injected without pain. Mirajet is often used together with Juvelook, and it works to quickly improve scars and pores. If you proceed with scar and pore treatment after pigment treatment, you may be able to achieve smoother and more refined-looking skin~?
