Fillers vs. Collagen Boosters
Hello, this is Raon Dermatology in Seoul Forest :)
When you are troubled by deep facial hollows or wrinkles, many people find themselves debating between fillers and collagen boosters. So today, we’re going to look at representative filler Belotero and representative collagen booster Juvelook together! To start with the conclusion: comparing which one is better is meaningless by itself. That’s because the answer changes depending on the situation. Let’s take a closer look at the related details from the next slide!

Fillers vs. Collagen Boosters
01. Belotero Filler
First, Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler from Merz. There are many filler brands and types, but for convenience, we’ll focus only on Belotero today :) The term filler itself refers to adding volume. It plays a role in delicately filling areas such as wrinkles and sunken cheeks.
In the case of Belotero, it has received approval not only from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety but also from the U.S. FDA. There’s no need to say more about its quality or safety, right? It also has excellent cohesiveness and elasticity, which means you can easily create the desired volume and expect that volume to last for a long time.

4 fillers suited to your skin
As shown on the previous slide, there are four lineups to choose from: Balance / Volume / Soft / Intense. The ingredients are the same, but the viscosity is different. Therefore, one advantage is that you can choose the appropriate viscosity according to the area being treated.
Let’s look at an example. In the case of Soft, it has the lowest viscosity and a smooth texture. Because it is suitable for sensitive neck skin, it is often used for improving neck wrinkles. On the other hand, Volume and Intense have relatively higher viscosity, so they are mainly used for hollowness or deep wrinkles. It’s helpful to keep these differences in mind as well.

02. Juvelook
Now let’s move on to the collagen booster Juvelook. Both Juvelook and Juvelook Volume are made of PDLLA and hyaluronic acid! They work by inducing collagen regeneration in the dermis layer of the skin. In addition, because hyaluronic acid is also supplied together, you can expect moisturizing and skin texture improvement effects as well.
So what is the difference between Juvelook and Juvelook Volume? It is the particle size. Juvelook Volume is about twice as large. Therefore, for deep hollows and wrinkles that require more volume, it is better to use Juvelook Volume rather than Juvelook.

02. Juvelook
What are the effects?
As mentioned earlier, Juvelook improves skin volume and elasticity by inducing collagen production. Therefore, its advantage is that it improves the skin more naturally than fillers. Also, unlike fillers, volume does not fill in immediately, but the gradually formed volume lasts for a long period, from one year to one and a half years.
And one more advantage: Juvelook and Juvelook Volume have a regular molecular structure. Due to this characteristic, the risk of nodules is low, and there is absolutely no burden in using it for scar or pore treatment!

Fillers vs. Juvelook
Then, let me wrap up today’s post by organizing the similarities and differences between fillers and Juvelook. Both treatments have the same goal of adding volume where the skin lacks it. However, there were differences in the details, right? First, fillers create volume immediately. On the other hand, aside from volume, it is difficult to expect other effects, and the maintenance period is relatively short, which can be disappointing.
Juvelook does not directly fill in volume; instead, it works by naturally building volume through collagen regeneration. Because of this, it has the advantage of being natural and long-lasting. However, volume does not form immediately after the procedure.
"Choose according to your situation!"
Ultimately, your choice will depend on your situation. If you want long-term skin management, Juvelook or Juvelook Volume will be suitable! If you have an important event coming up or want quick improvement, fillers such as Belotero will be suitable. If you understand these differences, choosing will be much easier :)
