Hello.
We are The Square Dental Clinic,
where we think about results that stay comfortable over time.

The desire to look better,
and the desire to protect your teeth for as long as possible.
Have you been hesitating somewhere between the two?
"It seems okay since they say less has to be shaved off..."
"But could problems still come up later...?"
Once a tooth is removed, it cannot be restored.
That is why I
first think about how much can be preserved.
Of course, Minishe is clearly a method with advantages.
But that does not mean it is the same choice
for everyone.
So today, rather than simply listing the advantages,
I want to organize three criteria you can use to
check for yourself whether it is the right method for you.
As you read, it may help to think about your own
tooth condition and daily habits at the same time.
[If you want to improve while protecting your teeth,
what should you look at?]
If the amount removed is small,
what does that mean is being left behind?

One expression that often comes up when talking about Minishe is
that the amount removed is small.
For example, in the case of a typical laminate veneer,
it is not unusual to prepare the tooth by about 0.5 mm or more.
This is a process for stably matching the thickness and shape
of the restoration.
By contrast, Minishe is carried out with a relatively thin amount of reduction,
around 0.1 to 0.2 mm.
You can think of it as being close to simply
neatening the tooth surface.
So why is this difference important?
The enamel, the outer layer of the tooth,
is one of the hardest tissues in the body.
However, once it is damaged, it does not recover on its own.
So a smaller range of reduction means that
more enamel can be preserved.

Also, depending on the case, it may help reduce nerve stimulation
and lower the occurrence of sensitivity.
However, there is one thing you should remember here.
This criterion does not apply equally to every situation.
The amount removed can vary depending on
the alignment of the teeth,
the bite relationship,
and the extent of areas that have already been prepared.
So when I say "less shaving," I explain that it is meaningful
only when the conditions are right.
Thin means
it must be that much more precise.

Another feature of Minishe is that it is made thin and precisely.
But being thin alone does not necessarily make it an advantage.
The block used for Minishe is a material with elasticity and optical properties
similar to the enamel of natural teeth.
So in terms of translucency and texture,
it tends to blend relatively harmoniously with natural teeth.
Thanks to these characteristics, even with a thin thickness,
it is possible to consider both aesthetic balance and functional stability.

However, making it thin also means that precision
becomes even more important.
If even a slight error occurs,
it can place stress on the bonding area,
and if the bite is misaligned,
it may lead to discomfort.
That is why the process of understanding the characteristics of the material,
along with the fabrication stage that handles it
and the careful bite adjustment after attachment,
must all be carried out together.
What matters is
not just a single sentence saying it is good,
but understanding why precision is needed
and what points should be considered.
It lasts for years,
but that alone is not enough.

The lifespan of Minishe is not determined
by the material alone.
Even if it is ceramic with physical properties similar to enamel,
the results vary depending on the environment in which it is used.
First, the bonding process.
The tooth surface preparation and bonding steps
must be carried out precisely
for a stable connection with the natural tooth.
If this process is not sufficiently considered,
over time changes may occur at the boundary area.
Second, the bite environment.
Depending on whether it is the front teeth or the molars,
the direction and magnitude of the force differ.
Especially if it is a location that bears a lot of force,
it is necessary to look at the structural balance as well.

Third, lifestyle habits.
If you grind your teeth, clench your teeth,
or often eat hard foods,
repeated pressure can be applied to Minishe.
In addition, staining can also differ depending on
dietary habits and the state of care.
Therefore, rather than simply deciding the lifespan
as a single standard,
it is better to first look at the current structure
and habits together.
Whether it lasts for a long time depends more on
the environment in which it is used than on the material itself.

Minishe is not simply a way to make teeth white
and pretty.
Rather, it is closer to an approach that refines shape and color
while preserving as much of the natural tooth as possible.
That is why I first look at these three things together.
✔ How much reduction is needed ✔ Is the current bite stable? ✔ Are lifestyle habits placing stress on the structure?
Only after going through this process
do I think it is more desirable to decide the direction.
And with any method,
rather than asking how much more beautiful it can make you,
I hope you look at it based on how long it can be maintained.
Once that standard is set, the direction of choice
is naturally organized.
