Hello.
This is The Square Dental Clinic,
where we explain the process before the results.

"If the equipment is good, is that enough?"
"Is a more expensive place better?"
"Can I trust a famous place?"
If you search online, you may find many similar stories,
which can actually make things even more confusing.
First, I want to make one thing clear.
The result is not determined by the equipment or the cost.
This may feel a little unfamiliar,
but the actual 기준 that determines the direction is something else.
So today, when looking for orthodontic treatment in Seoul,
I’ll explain step by step
three criteria you should be sure to check,
so that they are easy to understand.
The bite is checked before the visible alignment.

You probably noticed the front teeth alignment first.
So many people think,
"Isn't it enough to just make them look neat like this?"
But one important thing is missing here.
Teeth do not move separately;
they move together within the overall structure.
So rather than only looking at the visible parts,
✔️ the position of the upper and lower jaws
✔️ how the teeth fit together
✔️ and even the direction in which force is transmitted
are checked together.
This is called the bite.

If this is not checked and only the outward appearance is adjusted,
it may look neat at first,
but over time it can become crooked again
or feel uncomfortable around the jaw.
That is why, at the initial stage,
a broader view is needed.
· What the jaw position is like
· How the tooth angles are inclined
· Whether the bite is stable
These three things are examined together.
And one more thing to mention:
this criterion is not simply a process for aligning the teeth,
it is also something that takes future maintenance into account.
That is why the invisible structure is more important than the visible alignment.
The result is already divided at the planning stage.

If the structure has been checked,
we then move on to the stage of deciding how the teeth will move.
Many people think of it as the process of pulling or pushing the teeth into place.
But it should be understood a little differently.
When force is applied, changes occur within the bone,
and the teeth move accordingly.
So what matters here is not how strongly they are moved,
but in which direction they are moved.

For example,
if you think about a case where there is not enough space,
whether you keep things as they are
or create some space will change the result.
If you force them in without enough consideration,
they may end up being pushed forward,
whereas if the necessary space is secured first
and then the position is adjusted,
the teeth can settle into place without strain.
So in this process,
the direction of the teeth
the overall facial proportions
and the position and line of the lips
are also examined together.
[Check the case examples by situation first]
Maintenance is not the end; it is the core.

Many people think the point when the appliance is removed is the finish.
But from that point on,
you should think of it as the start of care.
Teeth have a tendency to gradually return to their original position.
So if they are left as they are,
there are more cases than expected where they become crooked again.
This is called relapse.
That is why a retainer is needed to hold the position in place.

And what is important here is
※ how consistently the result is maintained
※ whether it is corrected right away if changes occur in the middle
These two things.
It is not simply about wearing the appliance and being done;
it should also include checking the condition from time to time as time passes
and adjusting it then if needed.
Depending on how this period is managed,
the alignment you first set may stay the same
or become crooked again.
So rather than seeing it as the final stage,
it is better to understand it as a process that continues a little longer.
Maintenance will continue stably only when the condition is checked and adjusted along the way.
So the entire process is not really about ending,
but about continuing through maintenance as well.

When looking for orthodontic treatment in Seoul, rather than flashy stories that are visible on the surface,
- Diagnosis
- Planning
- Maintenance
it is better to first look at these three things.
It depends not on the appliance or what is visible on the surface,
but on the 기준 used to approach it.
So it helps to listen to how the current condition is being understood
and in what direction it is being adjusted.
And if possible,
✔️ whether it is explained based on the current condition
✔️ whether it is explained in a way that helps you understand the reason
it would be good to check these as well.
You do not have to decide right away.
It is best to first listen to how the current condition is being understood.
