Hello.
'Designing First Impressions'
This is The Square Dental Clinic.

Other people may have front teeth that are white, even, and beautiful,
but if mine are crooked, uneven, and yellow, it can easily become a major source of appearance-related stress.

After all, front teeth are one of the most important factors in determining a person's first impression.
Until now, laminates have played a role in improving the shape and color of teeth without cosmetic surgery.
Recently, however, a treatment called
'front tooth Minishe,' which is said to address the shortcomings of laminates,
has been drawing attention as an excellent alternative.
In this article, we will take a closer look based on three topics:
- Features of laminate treatment
- The concept of front tooth Minishe
- How to choose a clinic for front tooth Minishe
Let's take a deeper look at these three topics. :)

What kind of procedure is laminate?
I mentioned that laminates have played a role in improving tooth shape and color.

This laminate is a cosmetic prosthetic procedure in which a ceramic shell is bonded over the front teeth.
The biggest drawback of laminates is that tooth reduction may be necessary.
If the patient really wants it, it can be done without reduction,
but in reality, cases where no reduction is needed are limited to situations such as when the patient's teeth are positioned inward or are smaller than average.

For example, what if a ceramic shell is simply bonded onto teeth that already protrude more than others?
It could make the mouth appear even more protruded than it already is.
Tooth reduction itself cannot be said to be bad,
and an appropriate amount of reduction can actually help improve aesthetics and bonding strength.
However, if the amount removed goes beyond that appropriate range and becomes excessive,
sensitivity may occur and, in severe cases, root canal treatment may even be required.

'Front tooth Minishe' can be
a substitute for laminates.
As mentioned above, front tooth Minishe has recently been receiving a great deal of attention as an alternative to laminates.

The basic principle of Minishe is similar to that of laminate.
It involves creating a restoration from a material with physical properties very similar to natural teeth and bonding it to the tooth.

-
Key point: According to a long-term follow-up clinical study published in the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry,
when a thin ceramic shell was bonded while preserving the hard outer surface, enamel, as much as possible without deep tooth reduction,
the bond strength between the prosthesis and the tooth was found to be maximized.

However, Minishe is not a procedure performed solely for cosmetic purposes.
Its primary goal is to restore teeth to their pre-damage state and preserve function.
Front tooth Minishe can also be done without reduction, and even when reduction is performed,
it is only to the extent of trimming the tooth by less than 0.1 mm.
Compared with laminates, which may require about 0.5 mm of tooth reduction, this is a significantly smaller amount.
It is no exaggeration to say that among existing dental treatments, there is no treatment with less tooth reduction than Minishe.

A high level of skill
must be supported.
If you become interested in Minishe treatment, you must be sure to check the medical team's know-how and skill.
This is because even a very small error can lead to a large difference in the outcome.
If the restoration is made even slightly too thick, side effects such as bunny teeth, where only the front teeth stand out, can occur,
and if there is even a tiny 0.1 mm gap between the restoration and the tooth,
food debris can get trapped there, causing dark discoloration or inflammation.

In other words, the key to Minishe treatment lies in the technical skill of precisely bonding the natural tooth and the restoration.
Therefore, when choosing a Minishe clinic,
we recommend carefully considering the following points.

- Is a 'rehearsal' possible?
If there is a rehearsal system that allows you to predict what the actual result will look like,
a patient can proceed with treatment with greater peace of mind.

- Is a specialist on staff?
This treatment does not just look at a single tooth; it requires analyzing the harmony of the entire face.
Based on photos and videos recorded by professional imaging staff,
the design must take into account the lip line and even the angle of the smile.
Only when the clinical experience and know-how of specialists in fields such as integrated dentistry and orthodontics are added
can the most ideal smile line be found.

- Does the clinic have an in-house digital lab?
If the clinic has its own in-house lab and digital equipment,
it will be possible to create precise restorations that more accurately reflect each patient's unique characteristics.
[An article worth reading together]

As emphasized in the main text, Minishe is a treatment focused on becoming healthy and beautiful.
In as little as two days, and usually within about a week, the treatment can be completed.
I sincerely hope that you will regain a radiant smile
by meeting medical staff who have the precision to
not miss even 0.1 mm of detail
and who listen carefully to each patient's concerns.
