Very rarely, some people consider revision surgery even when they first plan their rhinoplasty.
However, if an unexpected need for revision surgery arises,
you will likely experience both external concerns
and psychological stress.
So why do people end up having surgery again?
There are many causes of nose revision surgery.

The nose shape is not satisfactory
Inflammation occurs in the nose after surgery
Contracture develops in the nose
and so on for various reasons.
If you are considering nose revision surgery for any of these reasons,
it is important to identify the cause.
If you are planning revision surgery for aesthetic reasons,
such as being unhappy with the shape of the nose,
you should visit the clinic so that you can identify
the desired nose shape and materials,
and the reason why the desired shape was not achieved in the previous surgery.
If you are planning nose revision surgery because of a functional problem,
such as inflammation or contracture,
you should also visit the clinic
so that you can determine what is causing the inflammation or contracture
and what surgical method will be used to improve the problem.

Representative symptoms of inflammation that can appear after nose surgery include
swelling of the nasal bridge
and
redness at the nasal tip
These inflammation symptoms can occur for reasons such as
incorrect handling of the nasal tissue during surgery,
incorrect placement of an implant,
or an implant size that does not fit the nose.
Also,
after nose surgery,
inflammation can occur for reasons such as
excessive drinking or smoking,
undergoing an extreme diet at the same time,
or weakened immunity due to an underlying condition.
If you notice signs of inflammation but delay visiting the clinic and leave it untreated,
it can progress to a chronic stage,
and symptoms such as
contracture,
skin necrosis,
and columella depression
may appear.
Therefore,
if you notice the above symptoms,
you should quickly visit the clinic,
check whether there is inflammation,
and find a solution.

If, after nose surgery,
the skin appears thinner and the implant becomes visible,
and the nasal tip turns red,
most inflammatory reactions occur due to problems with the implant,
so it is better to remove the artificial material
and undergo revision surgery using your own tissue.

Our
VN Plastic Surgery Clinic
removes artificial materials such as silicone that were used in previous rhinoplasty
and performs the surgery by raising the nasal bridge with your own tissue
or by covering the implant with dermis
and inserting it back into the nose.
