Hello.
I am Director Park Jeong-gi of the dental clinic near Sillim Station.
Even if just a few of our teeth are missing,
there are many inconveniences,
and if all of them are lost,
life would become much more uncomfortable.
When many teeth are missing like this,
some people rely on dentures(denture) for eating or social life.
Because they are removable,
full(full) or partial(partial) dentures
are used to replace multiple teeth.

Unlike full dentures,
partial dentures connect a clasp
hook to the remaining teeth
and help prevent them from easily coming off
the palate.
However, as the period of wearing dentures becomes longer,
if oral hygiene is not properly managed,
the natural teeth acting as abutments
can be damaged by cavities or gum disease.
As this happens, the denture itself
may have force concentrated on one side
or lack stability,
and may easily separate from the soft tissue.
An angled prosthesis
presses directly on the gums,
so the pain may be quite significant.
Oral examination
If a maxillary partial denture is used for a long time,
the natural teeth may be broken and the jawbone may have receded significantly.
This is not simply because of the denture itself;
continuous force is applied over a long period
while there are no teeth,
so the upper jawbone is placed under considerable strain.
Guided digital method used together
When the residual alveolar ridge has atrophied due to long-term denture use like this,
the level of difficulty inevitably becomes much higher.
This is because the position and angle for placing the implant fixture
are determined according to the thickness and density of the bone.
In a full case like this,
implant placement is carried out after determining the overall shape and framework
and also understanding the occlusal relationship,
so the skill and experience of a skilled doctor are required.
That is why, at the dental clinic near Sillim Station,
we work to reduce even a 1 mm error
by using a guided implant approach together.
At the dental clinic near Sillim Station,
CT and a 3D oral scan are used
to predict in advance
how much bone space remains
and where the maxillary sinus is located.
With this guided implant method,
the gum incision process needed to place the fixture is reduced,
so pain and bleeding are less,
and recovery time can also be shortened.
The placement of the artificial roots
has now been completed.
And after osseointegration,
the abutments are placed.

Final prosthesis
Looking at the photo after the final prosthesis restoration,
prosthetics are seen placed in the previously empty oral cavity.
Compared with the way it was before,
you can see that it looks stable and strong.

Wrapping up
Even after the placement is finished,
the lifespan of the prosthesis depends on how each person manages it.
So after placing the artificial roots,
using oral care aids is essential.
Sometimes people think that interdental brushes
will make teeth spread apart.
Usually, they are used when the gums have deteriorated and interdental brushes are needed,
so it may seem as if interdental brushes are what spread the teeth apart,
but interdental brushes do not make teeth spread apart.
Also,
you need to receive regular checkups consistently.
If there is any discomfort,
it can be discovered early through an examination
and treated early,
which can prevent bigger problems.
Thank you for reading this long post.
