Of course, I also try not to do root canal treatment if it can be avoided.^^

However, if it is unavoidably necessary, you must proceed according to the doctor’s diagnosis.

Fortunately, the case shown today at the Bongcheon-dong Dental Clinic is

according to the diagnosis, the pulp was not exposed,

and it was judged that it would be worth trying to restore it once more, so we decided to proceed without root canal treatment.

Removal of the existing restoration after anesthesia

after identifying the current problem in the oral cavity and establishing a treatment plan,

local anesthesia is administered depending on the procedure.

In this case, the patient may feel sensitivity during the process of removing some of the previously fractured restorative material,

so local anesthesia was administered only to the affected area.

This helps maintain a stable, pain-free environment during treatment.

After checking the distance to the pulp, apply a base if needed

At Bongcheon-dong Dental Clinic,

the inner wall of the cavity, including the previously attached material, is carefully cleaned.

If there is an area close to the pulp during this process, a material such as GI that helps calm the pulp may be placed in a single layer at the bottom to serve as a base.

The dentist directly examines the depth and condition of the cavity and decides whether this is necessary.

This is sometimes performed when deep decay is present or when proximity to the pulp is suspected,

and it helps reduce sensitivity to cold or temperature changes.

Once the cavity preparation is complete,

a custom prosthesis is fabricated through impression taking.

Straumann Nice Inlay

Today at Bongcheon-dong Dental Clinic, restoration was performed using a prosthetic material called Straumann Nice.

It is a high-quality ceramic inlay prosthetic material manufactured by the Swiss company Straumann,

and it offers excellent aesthetics and durability,

and is mainly used in same-day ceramic systems that allow treatment on the same day.

Thanks to 3D oral scanning, which minimizes errors and allows for custom fabrication tailored to the patient,

it was confirmed to fit precisely,

and from the perspective of Bongcheon-dong Dental Clinic, it seems to be a material with translucency and color similar to natural teeth, so it is hardly noticeable.

Its strength is also excellent,

making it suitable for posterior teeth that receive a lot of force like this.

Today at Bongcheon-dong Dental Clinic,

we performed prosthetic retreatment again on the area where the inlay had fractured,

but we examined what the previously broken material was and changed it to a material with even better strength, so it will probably last longer than before.

Also, the fractured area was fabricated with a slightly greater thickness to reduce the risk of fracture.

In addition, considering the characteristics of different materials by company, today we used Straumann Nice.
