"Lately, my makeup has been lifting
and not sitting well."
"My skin feels rough,
and like something is built up on it."
Do you ever feel like your skin looks duller than usual or that your makeup is lifting?
If so, it may be because dead skin has built up from residue on the skin, creating unnecessary buildup.

However, exfoliating products commonly used at home may only provide temporary results,
and they can also lead to skin irritation or trouble,
so it may be difficult to manage with home care alone.
One of the treatments I recommend considering in situations like this is Aquapeel.
Today, I’ll go over the mechanism of Aquapeel, treatment intervals and precautions, and how it can be used, one by one.

Hongdae Aquapeel
What kind of treatment is it?
Aquapeel is a treatment that removes dead skin cells, sebum, impurities, and blackheads from the skin’s surface using gentle water pressure and vacuum suction.
It is a care treatment many people prefer because it can effectively clean up what is needed while minimizing skin irritation relatively well.

The treatment is generally performed in the following order.
- Softening and removing dead skin cells
: Using an AHA-based solution to soften the epidermis and remove unnecessary dead skin cells
- Refining sebum and blackheads
: Cleaning up excess sebum and blackheads through a suction device
- Moisturizing and soothing care
: Restoring skin balance through soothing ingredients and hydration
Through these steps, it can help clear sebum and old dead skin cells deep within pores that simple cleansing cannot resolve.

Treatment intervals and precautions
Aquapeel is generally recommended to be repeated every 2 to 4 weeks.
However, adjustments may be needed depending on your skin condition or any treatments you are currently undergoing, so it is best to consult the medical staff in charge for the exact treatment interval.

Please keep the following points in mind after the treatment.
- Sun protection
: Right after treatment, the skin barrier may become temporarily weakened, so minimize sun exposure and apply enough sunscreen when going outside.
- Moisturizing care
: Use a gentle moisturizer to soothe the skin and help strengthen moisture retention.

- Avoid skin irritation
: It is best to avoid saunas, alcohol, and irritating products such as peeling agents or scrubs for at least 2 to 3 days.
In addition, products containing exfoliating ingredients such as AHA/BHA should not be used on the day of the treatment,
and those with highly sensitive skin must consult the medical staff before the procedure.

How it can be used
Aquapeel is useful as a standalone treatment, but it can also be used as a preparatory step before other dermatology procedures.
For example, if it is performed before laser toning or filler treatment as a step to thoroughly clear the skin surface and improve absorption,
it may help the subsequent procedure proceed more smoothly.

It can also be helpful for acne-prone skin if there are no inflammatory lesions, for the purpose of clearing sebum and dead skin cells.
Hongdae Aquapeel is one way to care for the skin with relatively little burden when you are concerned about rough skin texture, pores, or sebum.
However, please remember that an accurate skin diagnosis based on your individual skin condition and a treatment plan tailored to the purpose of the procedure are important factors in improving satisfaction with the treatment.
