Thermage Post-Treatment Care
How Should You Take Care of Yourself?
“After getting Thermage, how should I take care of my skin
so the effects last longer?”
Thermage is one of the 대표적인 devices among RF lifting treatments,
and it delivers heat deep into the skin
to regenerate collagen
and improve firmness.
However, many patients do not fully realize
that post-treatment care is just as important as the results themselves.
Since the skin begins to change immediately after the procedure,
the outcome can differ depending on how it is managed.
Today, we’ll go over how the skin reacts
after Thermage,
what care methods are available,
and how to maintain the results for longer,
step by step.

- Skin Changes After Thermage?
Thermage is an RF (radiofrequency) lifting device.
The radiofrequency energy reaches
the dermal layer deep within the skin,
creating heat,
and this heat helps lift the skin.
As a result of the thermal energy, collagen
contracts momentarily, tightening the skin,
and over the course of weeks to months,
new collagen is produced,
making the skin gradually firmer.

Because Thermage uses strong heat,
the skin may temporarily become red,
feel warm, or swell after the procedure.
The skin may also become dry
as moisture evaporates.
In other words, right after the procedure,
the skin is in a more sensitive state.
- Differences in Results Depending on
Post-Thermage Care?
In one clinical study,
a comparison was made between using only a moisturizer with no functional ingredients
after Thermage and using skincare with regenerative ingredients.

The study followed the period when the biggest changes occur after Thermage:
a four-week period, or one month.
According to the results,
Thermage alone already showed improvements in skin elasticity, density, moisture,
wrinkles,
and pores.
What was interesting here was that
the group that used moisturizing and regenerative products together with Thermage
showed much greater changes.
Group A was the test group,
which used moisturizing and regenerative cosmetics,
and Group B was the group that used only a basic moisturizer with no functional ingredients
after Thermage.

Compared with Group B,
Group A showed a more noticeable reduction
in fine lines and pores.
This suggests that while the Thermage procedure itself is important,
post-treatment care can further enhance the effects.
- Post-Thermage Care Methods
So, let’s look at how to care for your skin after Thermage,
one step at a time.
First, the most important part
was moisturizing and regenerative care.
As shown in the clinical study,
the results were good even with skincare products alone.

Using skincare products that contain moisturizing and regenerative ingredients,
or combining them with treatments such as LDM,
can also be helpful.
Because the skin is more sensitive immediately after the procedure,
thorough sun protection is needed.
In addition, nutrients that help produce new collagen,
such as protein and vitamin C,
should be consumed in a balanced way,
and getting enough sleep and reducing stress
will help improve the skin’s recovery ability.
Today, we talked about post-Thermage care methods.
I always say that post-treatment care is important,
but since the skin improves even without much care,
some people tend to become less attentive.
However, as seen in the clinical study above,
the treatment results can improve depending on the care method.
So please keep the care methods I shared in mind
and get the most out of your Thermage treatment.
