Hongdae thread lifting,
The “method” for lifting without side effects
“Is it true that thread lifting has many side effects?”
“What type of thread is the best?”
When the skin starts to sag, the first procedure people think of is lifting.
In particular, lifting with devices tends to show results slowly, so many people wonder, “Isn’t there an immediate lifting option?”
In such cases, thread lifting can be a good alternative. However, because there are so many different types of threads, it can be hard to know which one to use,
and some people try to insert as many threads as possible in hopes of stronger results.
So today, I’ll accurately explain the “type of thread” I actually recommend, along with “how many threads are safe to insert.”

What are the types of thread lifting?

Thread lifting is a procedure that inserts medical threads into sagging skin such as the face or neck to pull the skin upward.
It also has the advantage of increasing elasticity through collagen production as the threads dissolve.
There are many different types of threads used for this, and representative examples include Jambeur threads and Blue Rose.
Both are threads for lifting, but their structures differ, so the effects also vary slightly. It is important to understand these differences and choose accordingly.

- Jambeur thread
Jambeur thread is a uniquely spring-shaped thread.
Rather than strongly “pulling” the skin with sharp barbs like a regular cog thread, the spring adheres to the tissue and creates a natural volume-filling effect.
So when inserted into hollow areas such as deep nasolabial folds or smile lines around the mouth, it can improve volume while also providing a lifting effect.
Compared with conventional cannula threads, the needle tip is rounded and the thread itself is soft, which has the advantage of causing less bruising, swelling, and foreign-body sensation immediately after the procedure.
In addition, the spring structure helps reduce the feeling of awkwardness when making facial expressions.

- Blue Rose
Blue Rose is a PDO thread with protrusions in a 360-degree rose-thorn shape.
Because the protrusions firmly anchor the skin from multiple directions, strong lifting is possible.
It has a circular cog structure rather than a cut shape, making it specialized for strongly pulling up sagging skin.
Also, because it is made of PDO, collagen production increases over time, which can help improve elasticity and wrinkles.
In summary
-
Jambeur thread: For hollow areas such as the nasolabial folds, mouth area, and eye area + when volume enhancement is needed
-
Blue Rose: For cases where sagging cheeks, jawline, or double chin need to be pulled up strongly
This is how you can distinguish between them.

How many threads should be inserted?

The question people ask most before treatment is, “How many threads are inserted?”
Many think that inserting more threads will produce a stronger effect, but thread lifting is absolutely not a procedure where “more is better.”
There is a limit to how many threads can be placed within the skin area, and if too many are inserted, the expression may look unnatural or side effects such as the threads protruding through the skin may occur.
It usually varies depending on the degree of sagging and skin thickness, but
-
For Jambeur threads, about 4 threads is often appropriate for the nasolabial folds and mouth area
-
For Blue Rose, if there is sagging, about 4 to 8 threads is commonly performed for the jawline and cheeks
In other words, more is not better; inserting an appropriate number that matches the condition of the face is the safest and most effective approach.

What if you want better results?

Thread lifting alone can provide sufficient lifting effects, but if you want to increase satisfaction, it helps to combine it with device-based lifting.
For example, the VRO Advance device used together delivers high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and radiofrequency (RF) either simultaneously or selectively.
It stimulates deeply from the dermis to the SMAS layer, helping contract sagging skin and potentially improving fine wrinkles as well.
Rather than expecting dramatic changes from thread lifting alone, combining it with this kind of lifting device is safer and more effective.

Hongdae thread lifting is an effective procedure that lifts sagging skin with medical threads.
Depending on the type of thread used, it can provide various effects beyond lifting, including volume improvement, but inserting too many threads can instead cause side effects.
Therefore, we recommend receiving treatment in an appropriate amount tailored to the condition of the face, together with devices such as VRO Advance.
