Q How many threads are used in a lifting procedure?

A Usually 8–12 threads are used on one side, though this may vary depending on the treatment area. It is a method in which the thread is inserted while the tissue is gathered upward, downward, and backward to secure it in place, and an immediate lifting effect appears after the procedure. It is mainly effective for sagging jawlines and cheeks, nasolabial folds, and neck wrinkles.

Q How long does the effect last after the procedure?

A It is a semi-permanent procedure, and about 4–6 months later, when the thread dissolves, a touch-up is performed once more to enhance the effect. Depending on the customer’s skin elasticity and constitution, there may be differences in how long the results last, with absorbable threads lasting about 1 year and non-absorbable threads about 5 years.

Q Are there any side effects or inflammation caused by the thread during the procedure?

A The thread used in the procedure is a specially treated thread based on the sutures originally used for stitching inside the body, and it has very little risk of allergies. Even if an allergy does occur, it disappears as the thread dissolves, so there is no need to worry.

Q Do the threads inserted during lifting remain in the skin?

A The sutures used in the procedure are divided into absorbable and non-absorbable types. The same type of thread used in procedures such as Misko is used, and the lengths vary. For the first procedure, absorbable threads are used to first check for any allergic reaction to the thread. This is because, depending on the person’s constitution, some people may show a foreign-body reaction even to safe threads.
