Raise your hand if you want nose surgery but are worried it might actually make your nose more blocked!
Raise your hand too if you’re worried your rhinitis symptoms might get worse!
At Apgujeong Seoul Plastic Surgery, we’ll answer your questions right away!

First! What is rhinitis?
It is an allergic disease in which the inner lining of the nose causes an inflammatory reaction due to external substances.
However, when rhinoplasty is performed for cosmetic purposes, only the upper part of the nasal bone is affected. This area is separate from the mucosal area where allergic reactions occur, so it does not affect nose surgery.

I have rhinitis, so then
how is rhinoplasty done?
In most patients with rhinitis, the septal cartilage is often bent. In such cases, the septal cartilage may be used at the tip of the nose to straighten the bent bone and even help relieve rhinitis.

Attention for rhinitis patients!
If you have rhinitis and the nose is made excessively high during surgery, the nostrils can become narrower and breathing may become difficult. Also, rather than pain, many people feel discomfort when the nose is packed with cotton after nose surgery.
It is best to receive sufficient treatment for rhinitis before undergoing rhinoplasty.
