The prominent hump was smoothed out, and the crooked nose was corrected as straight as possible with surgery. Also, the wide nasal bridge was suitable for osteotomy, so the bridge could be made natural and slim. The nasal tip was also improved by using sufficient septal cartilage to address the drooping tip.

Hump Nose Rhinoplasty

• What is a hump nose?

A nose with a protruding middle bridge area (cartilage and bone) due to excessive growth, and a drooping tip caused by enlarged nasal tip cartilage is called a hump nose. It is often accompanied by a crooked nose or a wide nasal bridge bone, and it can make the face look longer. In women, it may give a strong, masculine impression.

• Hump nose surgery method

The hump area, made of cartilage and bone, is removed using a precision scalpel and osteotome. The drooping nasal tip is repositioned upward to match the bridge height, and autologous cartilage is placed on top of the tip cartilage to raise it.

For noses with a mild hump, after correcting the hump, a thin silicone implant may be inserted into the nasal bridge to raise the bridge, while autologous cartilage is used to improve the nasal tip.
