Hello,
This is Director Choi Junghyuk of Apgujeong Seoul Plastic Surgery.
Recently, the period after early admissions and the CSAT has ended, and many students preparing to enter university have been visiting us. Among the students who come in for consultations, there are especially many who feel self-conscious about a low nose or a bulbous nose, so today I’d like to explain through these types of cases.
Today, I’d like to introduce the rhinoplasty process and 6-month review of a patient who underwent surgery at our clinic and was concerned about a low nose and a nose tip that looked wide.
[Female Rhinoplasty: Before and After 6 Months]
Low Nose, Bulbous Nose
Improving to a Refined Straight-Line Profile
Before rhinoplasty

The patient usually felt that, when looking at herself from the front, her nose lacked dimension, and she was self-conscious about her nostrils appearing slightly spread out. She wanted a natural straight-line nose like those of actress Suzy and Shin Se-kyung.
A low nasal bridge can be raised by using an appropriate implant (silicone) to create a smooth, ideal nose that the patient wants.

In addition, since the patient wanted the wide nose tip corrected into a slimmer look, the low and drooping tip was improved using her own cartilage, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage to refine the shape and height of the tip.
Taking the nasolabial angle into consideration, the height of the nose tip was also designed, resulting in a natural, feminine straight-line nose profile.

After surgery, the patient’s small and low nasal bridge showed much better height, and without the nose tip looking spread out, the bridge and tip took on a refined and natural shape, which left her satisfied.
Even from a 90-degree side view, you can see that it settled into a clear straight-line profile.
The entire face looks much more dimensional than before the surgery.
How Low Nose Surgery Is Done
A low nose refers to a nose with a low bridge and tip.
Because the nose is the center of the face, a person’s image is often influenced by the shape of the nose, the bridge line, and the angle of the tip.
If the nose is low and especially small, the overall impression can look vague, and from the side it can give a flat appearance because the nose is low. For that reason, many patients undergo surgery for aesthetic purposes.
A low nasal bridge can be raised during surgery using an implant (silicone) or autologous tissue.
Some people ask whether surgery can be done without an implant using non-implant rhinoplasty. While surgery without an implant can produce natural results and has a lower risk of inflammation, there is a limit to how much the height of the nasal bridge can be improved. Therefore, for those who want a more noticeable change, implant insertion is recommended.
A low nose tip can be designed differently depending on each individual’s facial harmony and nasolabial angle.
For a first surgery, septal cartilage and ear cartilage, which are types of autologous cartilage, are mainly used to correct the nose tip.
