Q. When you have a small chin,

is a double chin guaranteed to appear?

When the chin tip is small and set back, there is not enough structure to support the skin and soft tissue under the chin, so excess tissue can remain and make it look like a double chin.

In such cases, small chin correction (chin tip surgery) alone often improves the jawline and the double chin.

However, if there is a lot of fat under the skin, or if the double chin is already pronounced,

combining small chin correction with submental liposuction can create a much sharper and more natural line.

Q. After small chin implant surgery,

is there a risk of bone erosion?

Because the silicone implant slightly presses on the chin bone, minor bone resorption (erosion) may occur over time.

However, this is a natural physiological response and causes no aesthetic or functional problems at all.

Even if erosion does occur, it is usually only a minor change of around 1 mm, and does not affect the appearance or surgical result.

There are almost no major side effects or deformities caused by the implant, so you can rest assured.

Q. After small chin implant surgery,

will my face look longer?

Small chin correction surgery (chin tip implant surgery) compensates for a chin tip that is set back, balances the overall face, and creates a natural side profile with more dimension.

Having an implant inserted does not make the face longer.

This is because the surgery does not artificially lengthen the chin; instead, the implant is placed forward in line with the existing chin bone.

However, depending on the patient's facial shape and proportions, the chin tip may be adjusted slightly downward

Q. After surgery, if I press on my chin,

can the implant's shape change?

Silicone implants are made of a material that does not change shape, so pressing on the chin after surgery will not cause the shape to change or bend.

However, immediately after surgery, the implant is still in the process of settling,

so for about one week, it is best to avoid touching the chin with your hands or resting your chin on anything.

If you take care during this early period, you can return to normal daily life afterward.

If the implant position changes or asymmetry is felt after surgery,

it is more likely due to an issue with the initial fixation or the surgical process, rather than from the patient pressing on it.

The silicone implant itself does not deform, and if the position is selected accurately and fixed firmly, it will not change shape over time.

Q. After small chin implant surgery,

can I sing or yawn widely?

Singing or yawning has no direct connection to the chin tip implant.

Singing and yawning are movements mainly related to the temporomandibular joint, and are separate from the chin tip area where the implant is placed in small chin correction surgery.

However, for about one week immediately after surgery, this is the period when the implant is stabilizing, so during this time it is best to briefly avoid opening the mouth too wide or moving it too forcefully.

will I need to replace the implant?

Because a small chin implant is not a product with an expiration date, there is absolutely no need to replace it at a set interval.

and it does not deform or dissolve over time after being inserted into the body, so you can keep it in place for life as long as there are no problems.

In very rare cases, if inflammation occurs or there is an issue with the implant position,

special treatment or corrective surgery may be needed accordingly.

There is no concept of regular replacement, and if there are no special issues, it can be maintained for a long time without replacement.

Q. After surgery, why do I need taping

on my chin?

The main reason is actually to reduce swelling and help it settle stably.

Right after chin implant surgery, there may be swelling around the surgical area or a little bruising-related swelling.

At this time, taping helps prevent the skin from being pulled and helps the tissue adhere evenly.

Taping does not need to be kept on for a long time, and usually 2 to 3 days is enough.

After that, as the swelling begins to subside and the skin stabilizes, removing the tape will not interfere with daily life at all.

Because it is a process to minimize swelling and help the surgical area recover smoothly, if you manage it well for just a short period, you can achieve a much more natural and clean result.
