Which facial wrinkle lifting procedure is the most effective?

“There are so many kinds of lifting procedures,
which one is the most effective?”
As the nasolabial folds become deeper and the face seems generally saggy, many people start to wonder, “Should I get a lifting procedure now?”
However, there are so many options — Ulthera, Thermage, Oligio, InMode, Onda, and more — that it is not easy to choose which one is truly effective.
Even if they seem similar, each lifting procedure has different effects. So today, I’ll organize and explain what kind of effects each type of lifting can offer.

Facial wrinkle lifting
HIFU lifting
HIFU lifting refers to a method that uses High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology to directly stimulate the SMAS layer (the fascia layer) deep within the skin.
The fascia layer mainly targeted by HIFU lifting is the face’s “basic structure” and the root cause of sagging, so when this area is tightened, the facial contours really come back into shape.

Representative procedures include Ultherapy Prime and Shurink Universe.
Because HIFU lifting structurally lifts the face, it is effective for areas where wrinkles form due to sagging.
This includes the nasolabial fold area or cases where wrinkles form because of sagging under the eyes.
That is because it works by pulling not the surface of the skin, but the “deep muscle fascia,” rebuilding the facial structure.
So it is suitable when the goal is to improve structural wrinkles and facial contours.

Radiofrequency lifting
Radiofrequency lifting works by heating and contracting the collagen fibers in the dermis, then promoting regeneration afterward.
The dermis targeted by radiofrequency lifting is where collagen is most abundant.
As aging progresses, the ability to regenerate collagen declines. Radiofrequency lifting improves this reduced collagen regeneration ability and provides a lifting effect.
In other words, it is a lifting procedure that improves skin quality and density, and you can expect effects such as reduced fine wrinkles, improved skin texture, and overall enhanced skin elasticity.

Representative procedures include Thermage and Oligio.
Radiofrequency lifting is especially suitable for people with thin skin or many fine wrinkles.
Because collagen gradually builds up over time, you can clearly feel a difference in skin texture starting about a month later.
Facial wrinkle lifting
Fat-dissolving lifting
Finally, the last type of lifting I’ll explain is one that mainly aims to break down fat.
As aging progresses, fat descends, causing facial wrinkles and even changing the overall impression of the face.
In such cases, it is better to break down that fat. Representative methods include Onda lifting and InMode FX.

These two lifting procedures selectively stimulate the fat layer under the skin to reduce the size of fat cells while also improving the elasticity of the dermis.
In other words, they are especially suitable for people with fuller cheeks or a less defined jawline, as well as those whose wrinkles are caused by descended fat.
Today, we looked at facial wrinkle lifting procedures by dividing them into three major types.
For wrinkles caused by structural issues, HIFU is effective.
For many fine wrinkles, radiofrequency is effective.
For wrinkles caused by sagging in the fat layer, fat-dissolving lifting is effective.
In fact, whether something is “effective” is a relative matter rather than an absolute one.
Because everyone has different wrinkle concerns, the most effective choice is to select the lifting procedure that fits those concerns.
