Titanium Onda Lifting,
Is It Effective When You’re Concerned About Facial Fat?
"Because of my facial fat,
I feel like my face looks bigger..."
When consulting with patients, many people
worry about the size of their face.
Even after dieting, they feel like the face
stays the same,
and say that sagging cheeks or a drooping
jawline make the face look larger.
That’s why many people ask about procedures
that can make the face look smaller,
like Onda and Titanium.
Both devices are effective for defining the facial
contour,
but because their working principles are different,
there are also differences in the results they
produce.
Today, I’ll explain how Titanium and Onda differ,
and what kinds of effects you can expect.

- What are the differences between Titanium and Onda lifting?
Both Titanium and Onda can make the face
look smaller after treatment.
Let’s look at how they differ, one by one.

Titanium is a device that simultaneously
emits three wavelengths of laser.
It delivers 755nm, 810nm, and 1064nm
wavelengths together.
Because each wavelength reaches a different
depth,
it can deliver energy evenly from the epidermis
to the subcutaneous fat layer.
In particular, the 1064nm wavelength
penetrates deep into the skin
and applies heat to fat cells.
This heat breaks down the triglycerides inside
fat cells,
and the broken-down fatty acids and glycerol
are then removed through the bloodstream.
Also, because of Titanium’s thermal energy,
the skin tissue contracts,
making the face look smaller.

On the other hand, Onda is a device that uses
microwave energy.
It works by vibrating water molecules inside the
skin to generate heat.
In simple terms, it works on a similar principle
to a microwave oven.
The outer surface is kept cool while the inside is
warmed.
Onda also delivers heat to the fat layer to
promote fat breakdown and collagen contraction.
However, while Titanium targets multiple depths
at once,
Onda uses 3mm and 7mm
handpieces
to stimulate a specific depth more directly.

Among them, the 7mm handpiece
increases the temperature of the fat layer,
damages the fat cell membrane,
and reduces fat to make the face smaller.

How much actual fat reduction effect is there?
So, how effective is it really in reducing facial
fat?
Let’s take a look through research papers.

This paper examined the effect on improving facial
contour using a triple-wavelength laser with the
same principle as Titanium.
Participants aged 24 to 45 underwent three
sessions at three-week intervals,
and were followed for six months.
Let’s look at the before-and-after comparison of
one 38-year-old female participant.

On the left is before treatment, where nasolabial
folds and sagging along the jawline were visible.
On the right is the 6-month result, and 3D analysis
showed about a 3.2mm volume reduction along
the jawline.
Other participants also showed a depth reduction
of 1.1 to 3.7mm from the nasolabial folds to the
jawline.

Let’s also look at a paper related to Onda lifting.
This paper studied the changes when Onda was
applied to submental fat.
Before treatment, the average submental laxity
score was 3.6 out of 4,
and 12 weeks after the final treatment,
it decreased to 2.3.

The before-and-after images of the participant
also showed a clear difference.

Who would it be recommended for?
As seen in the studies above,
Titanium stimulates multiple depths at once,
so it is good for people who need improved overall
firmness along with reduced subcutaneous fat.
It is especially effective for those concerned about
both nasolabial folds and a sagging jawline.

Onda can target a specific depth more directly,
so it is suitable for areas where fat is locally
accumulated, such as a double chin or buccal fat.
If you need both double-chin reduction and contour
definition, Titanium and Onda can also be done
together.

However, it is difficult to expect enough effect
from either device with just one session.
Usually, three sessions at 3- to 4-week intervals
are recommended.
This is because it takes time for fat cells to break
down and be eliminated.
Also, if there is an excessive amount of fat,
combining the treatment with fat-dissolving
injections may be more effective.
Today, we looked at Titanium Onda Lifting.
Both use thermal energy to break down fat and
refine the contour.
However, since their mechanisms of action differ,
choosing the more suitable device according to
your skin condition and the amount of fat may help
you achieve the results you want.
I hope this was helpful for those who are worried
about facial fat.
