"My skin is always red
because I keep getting acne."
When acne keeps recurring, red marks can build up on the face.
In cases of a red face, it is often not only traces left by acne, but also redness added on top of that.
In fact, for skin with these complex concerns, receiving only acne treatment or only redness treatment is likely to be ineffective.
The woman in today’s case also had multiple breakouts, red marks, and redness together. I’d like to share how she was treated over six months.
I hope this helps anyone who may be facing similar concerns.
Yeongdeungpo Acne and Redness
Skin Condition Before Treatment
Looking at this patient’s skin, there was more than one issue.

There were multiple acne lesions across both cheeks, the forehead, and the chin, and the most noticeable feature was the broad red marks left by repeated acne.
In addition, there was overall facial redness, and the weakened skin barrier made the skin tone uneven and easily irritated.
The important point here is that redness and post-acne red marks may both look like "red skin" on the surface, but their causes are different.
Redness is the skin itself turning red as capillaries expand, while red marks are inflammatory traces left after acne heals.
Even though both are seen as "red skin," it is important to distinguish between them because the lasers that respond to vascular issues and pigmentation are different.
On top of that, this patient also had skin barrier damage.
The skin barrier had weakened after repeated breakouts over a long period, and when the barrier is weak, the skin reacts easily to external irritation, creating a vicious cycle in which redness and breakouts worsen.
The patient had previously received Rejuran and redness laser treatment at another clinic, but said she did not feel a clear effect.
Let me explain in more detail why the effect was limited.

Treatment Plan
With this kind of complex skin condition, focusing only on one visible symptom may lead to limited results.
For example, doing only a "redness laser" because the skin is red, or only "acne treatment" because there is acne.
That was also why this patient did not see much improvement even after receiving redness laser treatment.

So we planned treatment with a combined approach, using the necessary lasers at each session.
-
Treatment to constrict dilated blood vessels
-
Treatment targeting the sebaceous glands to reduce recurrence of breakouts
-
A method to restore the damaged skin barrier and improve how long the treatment effects last
The treatment was carried out with three main directions in mind. Let’s take a look at how much improvement was seen afterward.

Changes After Treatment
Looking at the photos after 6 months and 10 treatment sessions,

-
The overall facial redness had noticeably calmed down
-
Multiple breakouts decreased,
with no long-term recurrence
-
The widespread red marks faded
-
As the skin barrier stabilized,
the skin overall looked healthier
Looking at the treatment progress, by the 4th session the red marks and redness had already improved noticeably, and the major breakouts had also decreased significantly.
From the 7th session onward, the improved condition was well maintained, so we focused on the remaining redness and sebaceous glands.
By the 10th session, the skin tone had become much more even, and the patient had reached a state where breakouts were not occurring in the long term.
This improvement was possible because we did not simply treat the redness itself, but also worked at the same time on vessel constriction, breakout management, and barrier recovery, creating an environment in which the skin could improve more stably.
Today we looked at a Yeongdeungpo acne and redness treatment case.

If you have recurring redness and breakouts and felt that treatment was ineffective, the issue may not be that the treatment itself was wrong, but that only part of the complex cause was addressed.
That is why the first step in treatment is to understand why your skin keeps turning red and which factors are working together.
If the cause is identified accurately, treatment can proceed more smoothly, so please check whether the cause is being properly identified first.
