Following the last post about flat warts,
this time, the topic we’ll be sharing information about is acne.
Many of you have probably felt stressed by acne at least once!
I’ve also left related content connected to today’s post on the blog,
so please be sure to check it out and maintain healthy skin habits!

The skin concern we’ll look at this time is an overall overview of acne.
Since there are several different types of acne, I’ll cover the details separately later!

What is acne?
Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that occurs due to increased sebum secretion,
excessive proliferation of keratin cells in the hair follicle,
and inflammatory reactions.
It mainly appears on the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders,
and refers to a condition that can take various forms such as comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts.
In severe cases, it can also lead to scarring.

Main symptoms
Comedones: A clogged state in which sebum accumulates in the hair follicle, and they are divided into blackheads and whiteheads.
Papules: Small red, raised inflammatory lesions.
Pustules: Red lesions filled with pus inside the papule.
Nodules: Large, hard inflammatory lesions accompanied by pain.
Cysts: Large, very painful inflammatory lesions filled with pus.
Scarring: If the inflammation is severe or acne is squeezed the wrong way, scars may remain.

Main causes
Excess sebum secretion:
Hormonal changes, stress, and genetic factors can have an effect.
Excessive proliferation of keratin cells in the hair follicle:
Because skin cells do not shed smoothly, the follicle becomes blocked.
Inflammatory reaction: As acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes) multiply, they trigger inflammation.
Other factors:
Using certain cosmetics, taking medication, friction, and exposure to ultraviolet rays can
be aggravating factors.
Prevention methods
Maintain cleanliness:
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser to remove excess oil and impurities.
Minimize skin irritation:
Be careful not to touch or squeeze acne with your hands.
Proper treatment:
It is important to consult a dermatologist and receive appropriate treatment.
Improve lifestyle habits:
It is good to manage stress, maintain regular sleep, and keep a healthy diet.
