Today’s topic is the different types of fillers—a topic that has been teased for quite a long time!

There are so many types of fillers!

However, most people do not usually look for a dermatology clinic based on the type of filler.

Most people first decide that they want a filler procedure and then visit a dermatology clinic,

where they make a decision after consultation!

Today, we will discuss the different types of fillers to help answer some of these questions!

Atierre

This is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler manufactured by Medytox, a domestic pharmaceutical company.

Its main features are as follows!

Atierre comes in three main types according to particle size and firmness.

Classic:

It consists of the smallest particles, making it suitable for delicate areas such as under the eyes and fine lines.

Intensive:

Its particles are larger and firmer than those of Classic, so it is used for improving moderate wrinkles such as nasolabial folds and lip lines.

Volume:

It consists of the largest particles and is used in areas where added volume is desired, such as the forehead, front cheeks, and chin tip.

#Atierre

Restylane

This was the first hyaluronic acid (HA) filler manufactured by Galderma of Sweden to receive approval from the U.S. FDA.

It uses NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) technology and is characterized by firm, consistent particles.

It is mainly used in areas requiring volume and support, such as the nose and chin.

It is also used to improve deep wrinkles.

Depending on the product line, it generally lasts from around 6 months to 18 months.

#Restylane

Belotero

This filler is manufactured by Merz of Germany. Its features are as follows!

Compared with other fillers, it generally has higher cohesiveness and viscosity,

and adheres very well to skin tissue.

It is suitable for fine lines in the superficial layers of the skin and for thin, sensitive areas such as under the eyes.

It is often used when a procedure with little foreign-body sensation and added volume is desired.

Lumps are relatively uncommon after the procedure.

#Belotero

Juvederm

This is a type of filler manufactured by Allergan of the United States,

with the following features.

Vycross technology creates a smooth, uniform gel.

It helps provide natural-looking volume to broad areas such as the forehead and cheeks,

and its diverse product lineup allows it to be selected according to the intended use.

Because of its smooth texture, it tends to cause little foreign-body sensation after the procedure and is absorbed into the tissue.

It generally has a longer duration than other fillers.

#Juvederm

Radiesse

This is a collagen-regenerating filler (premium filler) manufactured by Merz of Germany.

You can think of it as a hybrid or combination filler.

Its main ingredient is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres,

which are similar to components found in human bones.

Immediately after injection, the gel component of Radiesse provides instant volume.

As time passes, the gel is absorbed, while the CaHA microspheres described above actively promote collagen production within the skin, helping maintain volume and improve skin elasticity.

It is used in areas requiring volume or improvement of deep wrinkles, such as the nose, nasolabial folds, chin tip, and hollow cheeks.

#Radiesse

Ellanse

This is a hybrid filler manufactured by Sinclair of the United Kingdom.

It differs from Radiesse in the following ways.

Its main ingredient is PCL (polycaprolactone) microspheres,

which are also used in medical sutures.

As with Radiesse, the gel component provides volume,

while the PCL particles stimulate the surrounding tissue to regenerate collagen.

The PCL particles completely break down and disappear over time.

It is used to improve overall facial volume and wrinkles, including those on the forehead, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and front cheekbones.

#Ellanse

How are HA fillers different from hybrid (combination) fillers?

First, their duration differs because of the ingredients they contain.

One advantage is that they can improve the skin’s underlying condition through collagen production.

However, unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, they cannot be easily dissolved and removed, so it is very important to make a careful decision after receiving a thorough consultation from an experienced medical professional.

This does not mean that they cannot break down; they are made of ingredients that break down naturally.

What I have explained does not cover every type of filler!

As with Botox, there are many different types of fillers,

and it is important to choose a procedure suited to your individual skin type.
