Cellulite

Today, we’re going to take some time to learn about cellulite—something you may not notice if it isn’t there, but if it is, it can be endlessly frustrating.
Let’s get started right away!

This suddenly looks more noticeable after a successful diet!
This appeared after I checked because it seemed like my skin elasticity was gradually decreasing!

What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a phenomenon in which the skin surface becomes uneven, like an "orange peel," and is mainly observed on women’s thighs, hips, abdomen, and other areas.
When touched, hard nodules may be felt deep within the skin, or the skin in the affected area may feel less elastic and cooler than other areas.
It is a form of degenerated fat in which not only fat cells but also waste products, body fluids, and metabolic debris clump together and become firmly adhered to fibrous tissue.
It is often caused by a combination of factors such as female hormones, circulation problems, lifestyle habits, and genetic factors.
Unlike simple obesity, it may be difficult to improve with exercise or diet control alone, and it is sometimes considered a type of skin degeneration or a localized metabolic disorder accompanied by structural changes and inflammation extending through the dermis and subcutaneous fat layer!

Does dieting make it more noticeable?
Simply losing weight does not completely make cellulite disappear, and in many cases it may seem more pronounced or worsened after dieting.
This is because cellulite is not just a simple mass of fat.
Here are the main reasons why cellulite may appear more noticeable or worsen after weight loss!
As weight loss reduces skin elasticity and causes the skin to loosen, the uneven shape of cellulite remaining underneath may become more visible.
Also, as collagen or muscle decreases, the skin tissue becomes less dense, and the distinctive shape may become easier to see.
Because losing weight and cellulite are separate skin/body-shape issues, it may not be that there is a direct way to remove it; rather, it may just seem more visible for the reasons above.

Dermatology procedures for cellulite?
Since cellulite is not simply fat, but occurs through a combination of factors, various dermatological procedures using different principles are being performed to improve it!
First, methods using fat-dissolving injections and similar treatments may be used to break down fat in the area with cellulite and improve circulation.
However, in the case of injection procedures, the main purpose is often not cellulite improvement, so be sure to decide only after a consultation.
Second, there are methods using radiofrequency and laser devices.
This is one of the most commonly used methods, and a representative example is Onda lifting.
Because it has multiple effects such as liquefying and destroying fat cells, increasing skin elasticity by promoting collagen production, and improving blood and lymphatic circulation, it is widely used to improve cellulite.
