Hello! It’s already March, and while the full feeling of spring is here, an unwelcome visitor has arrived as well:
'fine dust'!
This year, at least, it is expected to be at its lowest concentration among recent springs.
However, there will still be times when fine dust suddenly increases, so today let’s look at home care tips to help rescue your skin from fine dust, as well as related dermatology treatments!

*The content in this post may vary depending on individual condition and skin state.
I know it’s bad for the skin, but why exactly is it bad?

👃 It’s not only bad for the respiratory system and nose!
The reason fine dust has destructive power beyond simply "dust sticking to you" lies in its size and composition.
- Particles smaller than pores: the fear of 'penetration'
Fine dust (PM10) and ultrafine dust (PM2.5) are much smaller than the size of our pores.
Ordinary dust stays on the skin surface and gets washed away,
but ultrafine dust can penetrate deep into pores and directly trigger inflammatory reactions.
It also wedges itself between the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, and irritates the skin barrier!
- 'Oxidative stress' and the generation of reactive oxygen species
Fine dust is often not just ordinary dirt, but a mixture of harmful compounds such as sulfate, nitrate, and heavy metals..!
When fine dust components come into contact with the skin, they cause an excess of reactive oxygen species inside skin cells.
In this process, collagen and elastin, which maintain skin elasticity, are broken down,
leading to wrinkles and a sharp loss of firmness, a phenomenon that can cause 'accelerated aging.'
- Inflammatory reactions and the making of 'sensitive skin'
Fine dust stimulates the skin’s immune system.
Skin cells exposed to fine dust release inflammatory mediators called 'cytokines.'
As a result, the skin becomes red, itchy, or stings.
In addition, for those who already have atopic dermatitis, acne, or seborrheic dermatitis,
fine dust can act as a trigger and rapidly worsen symptoms.
In particular, when sebum and fine dust cling together, they can clog pores and cause 'tiny acne.'
Do this when you get home after going out!

🏠 Proper care is truly, seriously, extremely important!
① Recommend low-irritation deep cleansing with a 'slightly acidic' cleanser
Washing your face by rubbing hard and forcefully in an attempt to remove fine dust can actually do more harm than goodㅠㅠ
A slightly acidic cleanser that protects the skin barrier while selectively removing impurities is recommended.
Making a habit of washing your face immediately after going out is the most important thing.
② Supplement antioxidants (vitamins C and E)
When fine dust touches the skin, harmful oxygen species (reactive oxygen species) are generated.
Use a serum or cream containing vitamin C, vitamin E, and niacinamide,
which help neutralize these and improve the skin’s self-repair ability.
*There may be cases where it does not suit your skin, so be sure to check before purchasing.
③ Rebuild the damaged barrier (ceramide & hyaluronic acid)
Fine dust dries out the skin and weakens the barrier.
Fill the gaps with ceramide ingredients and replenish moisture with hyaluronic acid
to form a 'moisture barrier' that leaves no opening for fine dust to penetrate.
For some people, all three may be needed; for others, only one may be needed.
There may be differences depending on the individual, so please be sure to check each one carefully before proceeding!
Dermatology treatments aim for skin care and collagen-centered skin cleansing and regeneration!

🧹 A process to clean dirty skin is needed!
If at-home care alone does not resolve dullness and trouble,
consider getting help from dermatology treatments!
| Treatment Name | Main Features and Effects | Recommended For |
|---|
| Aqua Peel | Uses a 3-step special solution to suction out fine dust, sebum, and Demodex mites from pores | Those concerned about pore cleaning, blackheads, and tiny acne caused by clogged pores from fine dust |
| LDM (Water Drop Lifting) | Uses high-density ultrasound to boost the skin’s immunity and deliver moisture to the dermis | Soothe skin that has become sensitive and dry due to fine dust |
| Rejuran Healer / Juvelook | Strengthens the barrier and improves elasticity by directly injecting skin regeneration ingredients (PN/PDLLA) | If your skin has been significantly damaged by fine dust and you feel inner skin health issues or inner dryness |
Of course, the treatments recommended may differ depending on the individual, so please be sure to decide after consulting with a professional!
Today, we’ve reached the first part of skin knowledge with a special situation!
I hope this post was helpful, and if the response is good, I’ll come back with a second part!
