There is expected to be a price increase for breast augmentation surgery using the breast implant “Motiva.”

A representative from Note Plastic Surgery said, “Due to a shortage in the supply of raw materials for medical-grade silicone, which is one of the raw materials used in breast implants, the number of implants that can be imported into Korea has decreased. At the same time, more customers are visiting plastic surgery clinics for breast augmentation during the fall and winter peak season, so we expect a so-called ‘shortage phenomenon’ to occur.” They added, “Accordingly, the cost of breast augmentation using Motiva implants will naturally rise at many plastic surgery clinics.”
There is also a positive outlook that, as customers become more careful in comparing the surgeon and the hospital before choosing where to undergo surgery in light of the increased price, more hospitals will provide high-quality medical services.
