Hello, I’m Lee Bo-hyung, the director of Note Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to answer a question many people are curious about
regarding canthoplasty eye surgery.
Q. Why does conjunctival edema occur after canthoplasty surgery?

A.
Conjunctival edema is usually a condition in which lymph circulation does not work properly,
causing lymph fluid to build up in the conjunctiva and make it swell.
During lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty,
lymph vessels may be damaged, which can disrupt smooth lymph circulation.
However, in most cases, it recovers within 1 to 2 weeks,
so there is no need to worry too much.
