Hello, this is Director Lee Bo-hyung of Note Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to talk about the eye surgery needed in cases where the skin is thick.
Q. What if the skin is thick?

If your skin is thick, or if the distance between your eyes and eyebrows is narrow,
and the area above the eyes feels puffy,

if you only undergo double eyelid surgery in that state,
you can end up with a
'thick double eyelid line'

In other words, it is easy to end up with the look commonly called 'sausage eyes.'
In fact, many patients visit because they want a revision surgery for 'sausage eyes.'

At this point, since muscles cannot be removed to make the skin thinner,
we perform a procedure called an 'endoscopic forehead lift'

by lifting the eyebrows and physically widening the space between the eyebrows and the eyes,
in order to make the skin appear thinner.

You may be thinking, "I just wanted a simple double eyelid surgery—why a lifting procedure too?"

But let’s imagine folding a towel.
Even if it is the same towel, it will fold much more neatly and beautifully when you spread it thinly first, rather than folding it while it is bunched up thickly.

When patients imagine what they will look like after surgery,
they probably are not expecting eyes that are thick and sausage-like.

To create the eyes that you have in mind,
this procedure may be absolutely necessary in some cases,

so we recommend visiting the clinic,
consulting with a specialist,
and then proceeding with surgery.
