Hello, I am Director Lee Bo-hyeong of Note Plastic Surgery.
Today, let's take a look at eye revision surgery.
Q. When is the right time for eye revision surgery?

This excludes cases where, years after double eyelid surgery, the crease gradually loosens,
or when there is sagging or dissatisfaction with the shape,

and you are considering revision surgery.
This is for those who have surgery and, within about one or two months,

already feel that the shape is not satisfying,
and are thinking about revision surgery or correction surgery.

I usually tell patients that it is better to proceed with revision surgery
after at least 6 months have passed.

If revision surgery is done before then, there is a risk of severe scarring
or, in some cases, worse surgical results.

So it is best to wait until at least 6 months have passed,
when a certain amount of scar tissue has softened.

In very rare cases, early correction may be possible.
If the surgery was done using the buried-suture method,

and you think, 'The line clearly doesn't look good,' 'I want it higher or lower,'
or if you want to completely undo the buried-suture procedure,
that is something that can be done even before 6 months.

However, in the very early period after surgery,
there can still be a lot of swelling, and as time passes,

there are also cases where the shape settles beautifully,
so I recommend giving it a little more time before deciding on revision surgery.
