Hello, this is Director Lee Bo-hyung of NOTE Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’ll talk about sausage eye,
a side effect of double eyelid surgery.
Sausage eye

Unlike temporary swelling that appears right after surgery,
sausage eye refers to a symptom in which the eyes continue to look swollen even after a long period of 1 to 2 years following surgery.

This usually occurs when a person has thick skin or a lot of fat around the eyes,
yet chooses an overly high and elaborate outer line that does not suit their eye condition.

In fact, this side effect is something that can be sufficiently prevented during the consultation process
if the medical team accurately understands the patient’s eye structure
and gives appropriate advice.
If you are already experiencing sausage eye symptoms and are worried about it,
it is better to lower the existing line a little and change the design to a semi-outer or inner-outer line rather than an outer line
when performing revision surgery.
This way, you can make your eyes look much more natural
and recreate an eye shape that suits you better.
