Hello, this is Director Lee Bo-hyung of NOTE Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to talk about the one-month follow-up in a facelift case review.
One month after surgery

This is what it looked like about one week after surgery. The wrinkles and sagging that were visible before surgery have improved.

However, at this stage, the face is still overall quite swollen, so it may look that way more than it actually is.
The reason I’m showing these photos is that, if you look closely, you can see the forehead reduction scar and some remaining bruising in a few areas.
Also, for many patients considering a facelift, the scar in front of the ear is their biggest concern. If you look here, you can still see that it is somewhat red and there are marks left from the stitches.
I wanted to show that about one week after a facelift, this level of swelling and scarring can still be present.

And these are photos taken at around one to two months after surgery, when the major swelling has mostly gone down.
Just looking at the overall appearance, you can see that it has improved a great deal.

Originally, the eyelids were covering the double eyelid crease, making the eyes look somewhat heavy. Now, the double eyelid line is clearly visible, and the hollow upper eyelids have been neatly filled in.

If you look at the nasolabial folds and the deep cheek line, there are still some natural wrinkles left, but the overall volume has improved a great deal, and the side jawline, which originally had an irregular contour caused by sagging skin, has become much smoother.

You can also see that the sagging corners of the mouth have been lifted significantly.

Lastly, even if you know surgery was performed and look closely at the scar in front of the ear, you can see that it has improved so much that it is actually hard to notice.
Summary

Today, we looked at a case of a patient who came in with concerns like, “I’m not sure exactly what I need, but I want to improve sagging and look a bit younger.”
I think many patients around this age have the same thoughts.
What procedure should be done in which area is something for me as the doctor to consider, so please don’t worry too much. I hope you can come in comfortably for a consultation, and we will do our best to help you recover and see improvements in a shorter time and with less difficulty than you might expect.
