Hello, I’m Lee Bo-hyung, Director of Note Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’ll talk about non-open rhinoplasty,
one of the nose surgeries where scars are not visible.
What Is Non-Open Rhinoplasty?

First, non-open rhinoplasty is exactly what it sounds like: a method in which the incision is made only inside the nose,
and the procedure is performed through that inner opening, so no external scar is visible at all.
Because the skin is not incised and opened from the outside, swelling generally tends to subside relatively quickly as well.

However, when surgery is performed using a non-open approach,
the surgical field is inevitably more limited, so it can be difficult to finely refine the shape of the nasal tip cartilage,
and it may also be difficult to proceed in cases where the surgical area is broad and the amount of correction needed is large.

With the non-open method, relatively simple procedures are possible, such as raising only the bridge of the nose without making major changes to the nose shape,
removing a dorsal hump, or tying the nasal tip cartilage.
