When contour surgery and rhinoplasty are performed together, the inside of the nose becomes more sensitive, and the muscles used to open the mouth or make facial expressions are in a stiff state due to the contour surgery.

In general, nasal irrigation is safest to begin after about 2 weeks, once the stitches inside the nose have been removed and the tissue has healed to some extent, after consulting with the medical team.

Right after surgery, you should avoid actions that increase pressure inside the nose, so rinsing methods that force saline in strongly are not allowed.

If you feel stuffy, it is better to lightly wipe away flowing saline on the outside only, or use artificial tears or similar products to relieve dryness.

Forcing your nose to blow or applying strong pressure can irritate not only the rhinoplasty area, but also the maxillary tissue that has become sensitive from contour surgery.

For safe recovery, rather than forceful rinsing, it is a priority to consistently apply the prescribed ointment and manage the mucosa so it does not dry out.

At your follow-up visit after 2 weeks, we recommend checking the inside of the nose, receiving guidance on the correct timing and method for rinsing, and starting gradually.
