Hello, this is Director Lee Bo-hyung of NOTE Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’ll talk about one of the reasons for incision surgery:
inner corner eye surgery.
What is inner corner eye surgery?

Inner corner eye surgery is a procedure that opens up the inner corner of the eye.
Because of the characteristics of Asian eyes, that is, Korean eyes, there are cases where the epicanthic fold covers the inner corner of the eye and makes it look cramped.

This is the kind of eye shape shown in the photo.
In such cases, it may be done together with double eyelid surgery,
or inner corner eye surgery may be performed on its own to create a more open and defined eye shape.

Sometimes, even when the epicanthic fold is not very noticeable
and the inner corner of the eye is already quite exposed,
some people want inner corner eye surgery simply because they want to increase the horizontal length of the eye.
In such cases, it is not recommended.

As mentioned earlier, the purpose of inner corner eye surgery is to remove the epicanthic fold
so that the eyes look clearer and more open, while narrowing the distance between the eyes
and increasing the horizontal proportion of the eyes to improve balance.

That is why I want to emphasize that there are specific eyes for which the surgery is suitable,
and when those people have the surgery, they can expect a clear result.
