Hello, I’m Dr. Kim Hyung-taek of Kowon Plastic Surgery.
My first post is a reply to an inquiry about side effects after nose surgery.

Q. It has been about two weeks since my nose surgery.
I had a cosmetic nose surgery that included silicone in the bridge, ear cartilage in the tip, and alar reduction, along with functional nose surgery.
Up to now, I like the shape of my nose and the side profile, but perhaps because I don’t know much about plastic surgery, I keep worrying about what if side effects happen.
Maybe because I’ve been so worried, since a few days after the surgery I’ve felt as if someone is stepping hard on my forehead from above, and that has caused a headache. The director who performed my nose surgery said it seemed like I was just being sensitive, so I decided not to worry too much, but one thing does feel clearly unusual, and I wanted to ask about the foreign body sensation after nose surgery because it is uncomfortable.
- The philtrum area supporting the nose and the cartilage? in the center of the nostrils feels very hard, and when I eat or make facial expressions, especially when I smile, the foreign body sensation feels very strong. Since it has only been a short time since the surgery, is this the foreign body sensation after nose surgery that I am feeling??
It is also strange that it is fine on the right side of the nose, but I only feel it on the left side.
- When I am usually walking or getting off a bus, if my body receives some kind of impact in those situations, I also feel as if my nose is collapsing, and I am worried that the nose surgery may have gone wrong.
If anyone has experienced and solved the problems I mentioned, including the foreign body sensation after nose surgery, please give me some advice.
It has been about two weeks since the surgery, but daily life still does not feel comfortable.
I’m curious about when these problems will go away, and I sometimes worry that my nose might collapse or that something might go wrong.
Looking at the question, it seems that about two weeks had passed since the surgery, and although the nose shape was satisfying, the person asking the question was experiencing a foreign body sensation after nose surgery starting a few days before the question and had developed various concerns.
First, I will answer the parts you are curious about.

-> If it has been about two weeks since nose surgery, you may feel a pulling sensation at the tip of the nose.
In particular, it is true that this can feel stronger when speaking or smiling.
The foreign body sensation after nose surgery will naturally disappear over time, so I do not think you need to worry too much.
- When I am usually walking or getting off a bus, if my body receives some kind of impact in those situations, I also feel as if my nose is collapsing, and I am worried that the nose surgery may have gone wrong.
-> This is a problem that can commonly be felt after nose surgery.
First of all, it is not a problem at all, so you do not need to worry too much.
Worrying too much after surgery can actually interfere with recovery.
If it has been about two weeks since the nose surgery and the hospital where you had the surgery also said there was no problem, then there is nothing major to worry about. Not paying too much attention to it will help recovery.
I hope you have a quick recovery and good results.
