Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, the director of Kowon Plastic Surgery.
In this answer note, a question was posted about changes to the nose after functional nose surgery.
I am here to answer that question.

Q. Questions About the Bridge of the Nose After Functional Nose Surgery (Rhinitis Nose) and Deviated Septum Surgery
I had a deviated septum surgery, that is, functional nose surgery (rhinitis nose).
But for some reason, after the surgery, it feels like the bridge of my nose has become lower, and it also seems like my nostrils have gotten larger.
My doctor says there has been absolutely no change in the shape of my nose.
Still, I thought it would be good to ask about it objectively, so I am posting this along with photos from the functional nose surgery (rhinitis nose).
The left is before surgery, and the right is after surgery.
From an objective point of view, what parts of my nose seem to have changed?
Please evaluate it objectively. Also, please evaluate the shape of my nose as well.
From the question, it seems you felt that after deviated septum surgery, that is, functional nose surgery, the bridge of the nose became lower or the nostrils became larger. Along with that, you also mentioned an evaluation of the nose shape.
A photo taken from the side is needed to determine whether the nose has become lower, and a photo taken from below is needed to compare the size of the nostrils.
The points you mentioned are difficult to confirm from a front-view photo alone.
Still, judging only from the front-view photo, the difference before and after surgery seems almost nonexistent.
In general, when only deviated septum surgery and functional nose surgery (rhinitis nose) are performed, there is almost no change in the shape of the nose. So there is no need to worry too much.
I hope you have a good outcome from the surgery.
