Hello, I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the chief director of Kowon Plastic Surgery.
In this answer note, someone posted a question because they had something on their mind after having their stitches removed 5 days after nose surgery.
I am going to answer that question.

Q. Five days after nose surgery, I had the stitches removed. It won’t cause a contracture nose, right?
I had the stitches removed 5 days after the nose surgery.
But looking at the photo, it seems like the columella area is slightly open... It stings a bit when I apply the ointment...
There was a little bleeding at first after the stitches were removed, but there is no bleeding now...
I heard that a contracture nose is caused by an infection from bacteria, so if bacteria enter through the open gap, won’t a contracture nose develop?
I was told to visit the hospital on Monday, but will bacteria not get in before then...?
Looking at your question, it seems you are worried and stressed because there was a little bleeding at the beginning and it stung when you applied the ointment.
However, there is no need to worry. About 5 days after surgery is the time when stitches can be removed after nose surgery.
Also, from the photo, there appears to be no risk of a contracture nose, and it looks fine, so please visit the hospital on the scheduled date and receive treatment as planned.
I hope you have a good result from the surgery.
