Hello, I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the chief surgeon of Kowon Plastic Surgery.
In this answer note, this is a question posted by someone who had nose surgery and was concerned about a possible side effect.
I am here to answer that question.

Q. Is this a side effect of nose surgery? I had surgery using ear cartilage for the nasal tip
It has been about a month since I had rhinoplasty. The bridge of my nose was done with 4 mm silicone, and the nasal tip was done with ear cartilage.
But as you can see in the photo, the lower part of one nostril appears sunken.
Could this be a side effect of nose surgery? If it is a side effect, what kind of side effect is it?
It has been about a month since you underwent rhinoplasty with 4 mm silicone in the nasal bridge and ear cartilage at the nasal tip, and as shown in the photo, one nostril appears indented, so I think you must have been very surprised and upset.
To answer your question, this is not a side effect of nose surgery. When performing nasal tip surgery with ear cartilage, the boundary area of the cartilage can appear sunken, and if this appears severe, the nose can look pinched.
This is a symptom that is often seen after nose surgery, and if the pinched or sunken area is bothering you, it would be best to contact the hospital where you had the surgery and discuss it with the surgeon.
I hope you have a good result from the surgery.
