Hello. I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the chief director of Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic.
In this response note, I’d like to talk about the surgical methods for a patient with a wide nasal bridge and a bulbous nose.

Q. I’m planning to get nose surgery—please tell me what types of surgery I need.
I’m thinking about bulbous nose surgery. I have a bulbous nose, and I don’t know what to call the area marked in red in the photo, but since that area seems somewhat wide, when I wear glasses, my nose looks more prominent and bigger.
I would prefer not to undergo surgery that inserts artificial implants such as silicone, if possible.
The surgery I found on my own seems to be osteotomy and alar reduction, but is there a more suitable bulbous nose surgery for my nose?

You do not necessarily need osteotomy or alar reduction when having bulbous nose surgery; it looks like tip surgery to make the nasal tip slimmer would be needed.
Of course, based on the photos, the current nose shape does not look unusual or severe at all.
If the area marked in red is reduced, it will affect the breathing area.
Therefore, it may be more desirable to make the nasal tip slimmer or raise the nasal tip so that the marked area appears slimmer.
I hope you achieve a good result.
Thank you.
