Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, the chief director of Kowon Plastic Surgery, specializing in rhinoplasty.
In this answer note, I will talk about swelling after nose surgery, swelling of the bridge of the nose, and blood pooling after nose surgery.

Q. The swelling after my nose surgery is severe, and I am especially worried about swelling along the bridge of my nose.
Hello, it has been 2 weeks since I had rhinoplasty.
For a week after the surgery, I wore a splint to help it settle, and it was removed on day 7.
But after the splint was removed, when I looked in the mirror the next day, my nasal bridge looked as if it had shifted a lot to one side, so I immediately visited the hospital where I had the surgery and was examined by the director.
He pressed my nasal bridge firmly to align it back to the center.
Since then, the swelling of the bridge of my nose seems to have gotten worse, and I am anxious.
I am very scared because I do not know whether this amount of swelling after nose surgery is normal or whether something went wrong.
I do not especially feel pain or warmth,
so can I just think of this as swelling after nose surgery?
If the swelling on the bridge is severe, could it be a complication such as blood pooling or fluid accumulation after nose surgery?
I am very worried.

I understand how worried a patient can feel about swelling of the bridge of the nose.
Since seeing it in person is the most accurate, please understand that I cannot say with certainty what the problem is based only on the text.
If there is no pain, warmth, or redness, and if the nose does not feel soft or squishy when touched, it is likely swelling after nose surgery.
However, if the nose feels soft or squishy when touched, or if you feel pain, I recommend visiting the hospital again.
I hope you have a good result.
Thank you.
