Hello. I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the head doctor of Kowon Plastic Surgery, specializing in noses.
This answer note is about revision nose surgery.

Q. It has been 2 months since surgery, and I want revision nose surgery. (Septal cartilage issue)
It has been about 2 months since my surgery.
I used silicone, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage.
After surgery, the septal cartilage protrudes severely to one side, making it hard to breatheㅠ
My chest feels tight when I breathe, and sometimes one nostril gets blocked..
My nostrils are uneven, and the silicone on the bridge of my nose is visible.
There is no pain or inflammation.
-
It has been about 2 months since surgery. I want to have the septal cartilage shaved again and have the silicone removed.
And can the tip of my nose be raised using only autologous cartilage?
-
I do not trust the hospital where I had surgery. Should I decide after a consultation?
How much would it cost at another hospital to shave the septal cartilage and remove the silicone?
-
I asked the ENT clinic I visit often, and they said that when there is a septal cartilage problem, they recommend a place that works with an ENT doctor rather than a plastic surgery clinic alone. Would that be better??

- It is possible to shave the septal cartilage again, remove the silicone, and supplement the nasal tip with autologous cartilage.
However, revision nose surgery is generally possible only after at least 6 months have passed since the surgery.
At this point, 2 months after nose surgery, as in your case, the nasal tip is in the phase of becoming firmer, so surgery is difficult.
- We cannot provide cost-related guidance online.
It would be helpful to call the hospital to ask or visit in person.
- Plastic surgery clinics also handle septal cartilage. In addition, since you also want to address the problem of visible silicone, we recommend visiting and consulting with both a plastic surgery clinic that performs nose surgery and an ENT clinic.
We hope you have a good result.
