Q. I had alar reduction surgery, but it feels like my nose size has barely changed.

I just came back after having alar reduction surgery. From what I can see, it doesn’t even seem swollen.

But my nose size seems no different from before the surgery.

There’s no swelling at all, so why is that?

I thought the size would go down since both the inner and outer sides were reduced, but there doesn’t seem to be much difference.

In your case, it is thought that the alar reduction surgery was performed using an incision method.

If you compare the photos before and after surgery, you should be able to see that the nose size has decreased.

Since alar reduction surgery involves cutting and suturing with an incision method, the nose size is definitely reduced. However, I think the amount of reduction was smaller than you expected, so it may not have looked noticeable.

So please compare the before-and-after photos and consult with the doctor who performed your surgery.
